That's all that I'm building now, and I have a 200 watt regulated mod. Go figure.
Spaced 24ga is about all I use. Occasionally I'll throw twisted 26ga in just for fun, or spaced 26ga for smaller atties. Usually N80, but I use ss316 sometimes.

I played around with claptons, and tried to like temp control, but wasn't a big fan of either. Claptons just aren't very efficient, have to dump watts into them to perform, and ramp up time.

Most of the time, I end up running my builds around 3.8-4v.

BOOM!

You and me both lol. I was telling an owner at a vape shop this once. I own a dna 200 and the most it's seen is maybe 80 watts, with a velocity. I don't get why people LIKE to use high watts.

Good to know. I'll make sure I kill the battery connection when I'm not using mine. Did you have any problems with the button sticking in the past? Or any juice leaking incidences? How old is it? Glad you didn't get hurt.

I've had plenty of devices start autofiring on me. Usually after lots of use and abuse, and possible water damage >_>. But still this is good to know.
Wish more mods would turn all the way off.

I always thought that the "Safety Lock Switch" on the Wismec Presa was a Good Idea.

It is Nice to be able to turn the Mod off by Physically moving the Switch.

Ours caught fire last night beside the bed at 4:30am approx and almost caught bed on fire. This thing is super dangerous and I suggest removing battery when not using unless you want to possibly burn down your house or car if unattended. We bought it brand new last week. Flames were shooting out the top, I am guessing firing on its own? Really scary!

Ouch! so glad everyone is safe. Sounds like Kanger needs to be contacted so they can look into the problem before someone gets hurt

That is Scary. Good to hear that No One was Hurt.

Can you post some pictures of the Mod?

Do not put the Dribox in your pocket! Or in your house! Or on your car! Leave it outside or in a fire-proof cabinet.

This device was all original, with no modifications, nothing over-tightened, could have burned my house down when it caught on fire.

What should I get instead?

Thanks
Mine did the same thing last night. I had it sitting on my desk in my office. I didn't even use it at all yesterday. I went to grab it this morning and found it had ignited itself melting the plastic tip into the coil.

My Geyscano is my "daily driver" but not as portable as the drip box. Does anyone know of something similar to the dripbox; inexpensive, portable, simple, etc.

You might look at a CV. Brass ones are available, too, as well as kits. Fast Tech also sells affordable Reo Grand clones. Not yet pulled the trigger on getting a Kanger, or Pico squonker. Not too sure I will any more, now and not merely due to your incident. I'm quite content using a CV or falling back to a Reo clone. YMMV & this is only my humble :2c:, take or leave as you want or need.

FT's REO clones have been discontinued, but I agree with the Coppervape. I have 2 and I love them.

I would recommend buying the mod only (not kit as the atty sucks) and add a Tsunami, Origen, NarDA, etc.

There are many good affordable NON-Reo options available now:
    • Pico Squeeze - similar to the dripbox1, electronic controls and USB charging. < $25.
    • CopperVape - purely mechanical squonker can be had for < $50 however "slow boat" from FT. Quite a few fans of this device in the BF forum.
    • Dripbox2 - fully regulated TC squonker mod. These sold out very quickly at most (all) the discount vendors. 4 user editable/setable TCR presets (with computer), USB charging. Down side is power level in TC mode is not user programmable. ($26.95-56+)
    • COV Wraith - fully regulated TC squonker mod. < $80. No USB charging. Quick and easy bottle+battery door.
Personally, I keep going back to my 'old reliable' TFV4 mounted on a Pressa TC100. As long as there is juice in the tank I get the same vape every time I push the fire button and take a draw.
