I've asked in another thread but didn't get an answer: Do atomizers ever die by shorting out? Has anyone experienced this? If so, this will torture the batteries and should be taken into consideration. No power source wants to operate into a dead short.

Heh! I was thinking about that all day. I was imagining an atomizer bridge melting or breaking and crossing the contacts/welds or whatever and resulting in significantly less resistance. Maybe just atomizer burnout or melting/failure from a sustained button press.

We got at least 4 failures and I'll bet at least a couple of those people still have the parts or whatever is left. Easy enough to measure the resistance of the atomizer and inspect it. Certainly the Detonator guy has the technical savy and motivation to do that.

I didn't think the protected CR2's would fit the S6... Has something changed??

Thanks

Kris

Nothing's changed.

I believe David mentioned elsewhere or earlier in this thread that he was looking at the possiblity of reaming out the S6 to take 2X protected CR2's.

Just an update to keep this fresh in everyones mind...

When using unprotected batteries, make sure you check them, test them, and if using 2 of them at the same time, make sure they are paired up using a meter...

A chuck recently blew up on someone while vaping with unprotected batteries...

User error once again. The guy was charging non-rechargeable cr123a's. Good way to create an explosion. Glad he's ok and admitted to his mistake, but damn, what do you expect?

*goes back to vaping s6 with 2 cr2s

Yup.... Still a good learning lesson though....

I guess he purchased non rechargeable batteries and recharged them before the kaboom....

O.K. the Super Six is here and has been tried at 6V using the Eastmall HV atomizers.

Quite simply, it's a monster. Hits are thick and luscious. My only concern at this point is the ratty charger that I got for the CR2 batteries. I vaped on a pair of green Ultrafires for a while, but when I dropped the batteries on this thing it just shows green. I may not have drained them enough to be charged, but I also noticed something loose inside the charger. It could just be case plastic or it may be something worse. So does anyone know where I can do better than this one? Thanks.
