I purchased the sparki and within a week it is totally gone. The atty stopped working within 2 days.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I went to recharge the batteries, the charger caught on fire. The thing wasn't even plugged in!!!!!

The charger is now a melted piece of plastic. The springs also melted. This happened within less than a minute. I was fortunate that it was not in my hands.

It left quite a large burn hole in my couch!

I don't know what they are currently providing, but they've sold unprotected batteries of suspect quality in the past. Tough to say if it was your batteries, your charger, or if you inserted a battery in to the charger reverse. Since it wasn't plugged in and it melted down, I think it was the first or the third choice... and most likely the third.

Here is where to report this sort of incident. I hope you will report it to ECF. In fact, that might be the most effective way to get your message out. If the charger wasn't plugged in, wasn't already known to have a short, and you are sure you inserted the battery properly, then there isn't much left to consider besides the battery itself going thermal and taking out the charger.

Sparkplugforsmokers told people last fall they were going to stop selling unprotected low-quality batteries. Apparently, that wasn't true.
