Strange. What border crossing? (State?) Going through either way is usually a crapshoot.

To make it easier I make sure I remove sunglasses, look the agent in the eye, open all windows, have passports ready, know they will ask for the reason for the visit so be ready with an answer.

We were entering through Michigan.

That sucks big time. My wife and I do some cross border shopping 2 to 3 times a year for the little one, and are planning on going next month. Thanks for the heads-up. Will make sure I handle my PV supplies with care if we are stopped.
