I've been smoking cigs for three years now, and recently have been down to less than half a pack a day. I typically smoke Marb Reds or Smooths. Saturday my brother bought a Mistic e-cig kit for me (we were going on a long car ride and no one wanted me in the car smelling like an ashtray!) It was definitely better than not smoking at all, but the craving for tobacco was definitely still there. I've been smoking one or two analogs a day since then, and they don't taste good at all since I started with the Mistic. However, I feel like the e-cig is just not cutting it.
The cartridges are 1.8% (which translates to 18ml I think...) and I was never a heavy smoker, so I figured the nicotine in it would be sufficient. But I find myself constantly puffing away on the e-cig. Any idea why that would be?
So, I ordered some juice online at 24ml and plan on refilling the cartridges I already have. I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere I can buy empty cartridges that are compatible with my e-cig? It doesn't say what model it is.
Also, sometimes if I just pull the vapor into my mouth (like I usually would on an analog) before inhaling deeper, it tickles the back of my throat and I have a coughing fit. If I suck it straight into my lungs, that never happens. Any suggestions or ideas on that?

Thanks!!

At 1/2 ppd, I wouldn't think that you would need more nicotine. You may just need a better pv. 18-24 mg is usually recommended for folks who smoke about 1 ppd. But it's worth trying.

It seems like you are enjoying vaping, and you have already discovered that analogs are nasty. :p You may as well go for the upgrade. Everyone does eventually. ;)

I was given a mistic e-cig too, but I was already a vaper for over a year. The battery on it is pretty good actually, though as previously stated it doesn't fit right on standard 808 stuff, so there is a little gap that makes it look funny. I would suggest gettting different cartrdiges. You should get CE2 clearomizers (fluxomizers) or CE2 standard carts. They have no filler, and make juices taste better. I tried refilling the mistic cart and it tasted terrible. I also recommend trying a kr808d manual battery so you can better control the drag you are taking off the e-cig.

I started my vaping experience on a mistic as well. We ordered some 808-D1 cartos for them, but the can damage the battery if you screw them on too tightly. Since then we (hubby and I) have started using eGos and like them much better, but keep the mistics around for a backup in a pinch. As for the cravings, regardless of my nic strength, I still crave analogs, almost 2 months in. I know it's likely because of all the other harmful chemicals you get addicted to, and I hope this will pass soon. What helps me get through is finding a juice that I really enjoy vaping, and I just vape alot to conquer the cravings. The coughing and dryness still gets me at times too, but it's much better than it was at first. Good luck to you!!!

I agree you probably just need a better e-cigg. That's great you got to be introduced to it but I feel like that's all mistic is really good for, an intro. After you try something of higher quality I think you'll be blown away.

Based on their site--- All glitz and gam to reel people in. I doubt the people selling their products have real concrete knowledge like many of the mom and pop vendors you find on ECF. Mistic is overwhelmingly obliviously just in it for the money. A 5 pack of replacement carts for 15$ whoooa. I'd find something better, pronto.

V4L.com for example has a very good reputation. I believe they are 808 as well (someone correct me if I'm wrong?). Their replacements are about 10$ and have a whole lot more flavors then Mistic.

An ego/riva/kgo variety isn't bad either. You may not need that much battery life (6-8 hours per charge)but the ability of those devices are far superior to small, cigarette look a likes if what you have now just isn't giving you "throat hit", that punch you are after. Most are manual and manual is always better if you plan to buy juice and fill blank cartomizers. If juice gets in an automatic it can easily break.
