Hi I'm new but have been doing alot of reading/research here for the last month. It's great that ecf is here otherwise I'd be lost.

I'm expecting an Ijust 2 kit from fasttech sometime in the next week to two months. I envisioned myself opening the package and throwing some liquid in and using it right away. But after a bit of research I have learned that I not only have to put the battery on charge, then prime the coils, I should thoroughly clean the tank.

That never occurred to me to wash it. I also read that there could be bits of metal from the machining still attached to it.

What are your experiences when receiving new gear and what if any routine do you go through before use?
Thanks.

It all depends on the build quality of the items in question. Inspect them under a good light, smell them.

If in doubt wash them.

Rinsing just the tank in water should clear out any metal shavings, dish /liquid soap will clear out any machine oil.

Shake off excess water, blow out most of the rest, air dry while you wait for the batteries to charge.

Always better safe than sorry, even a highly rated manufacturer known for clean items could have the 1 with a stray metal shaving. You do not want that in your tank, or worse floating into the coil and shorting out the device. Also, machine oil is horrible and will taint the flavor of your juice. Nobody wants to vape dobbies sock flavored juice.
