Sorry for posting a new thread on this but would just like to ask a quick question...

As Everclear (PGA) is not available in my country, I was advised that I can use cheap vodka for substitution. My question is, can I use any liquor with the highest alcohol content or must it vodka? Is there any specific liquor I should avoid?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I've read some posts stating that rubbing alcohol isn't recommended. Therefore, I'm slightly skeptical.

Aside from alcohol, will baking soda help?

High proof cheap vodka or denture cleaning tablets. Seriously--they work great. Try to find the unfavored kind though, unless you really like minty flavors. :D

Although some people prefer alcohol it isn't really necessary. You need to break down any machining oil that may be present and a good scrub with dish soap and hot water does just fine. Rinse well.

That's for the tank--I thought the OP was asking about cleaning the atomizer (coil) itself...

Sorry for not being clear. I've ordered a clone from FT and would want to wash away the machine oil. Aside from that, for general cleaning after periodic usage. Tank + atty

Ok. Pre-made coils/wicks you wouldn't want to do the soap and water thing with - or anything else that might not come completely out of the wick. But if this is any kind of RDA or RTA soap and water is all you need. Or course if it comes with a pre-installed wick and coil take that out first. :p

NOTE: Be mindful of any o-rings if your RDA uses them. We occasionally get someone who has cleaned a new RDA but is puzzled as to why it still tastes weird. In some really bad cases machine oil can hide underneath o-rings and you need to remove those too and clean underneath, as well as clean the o-rings.

OK, See above. Dishwashing detergent (mild, like Dove or Palmolive) and warm water for the body, alcohol (cheap strong vodka) or denture cleaning tablets for the coil heads.

If you ordered an RBA, then you just dry burn the coil and rewick.

Good luck!
