I just got an email with this.....
Your state legislators in Olympia are currently considering HB 2165, a bill that would add a new 60% tax on vapor products sold in Washington. They’re even trying to impose harsh laws on businesses like ours to stop or discourage you from purchasing products through the internet.

A 60% tax is excessive and will lead many small businesses in Washington to close. Worse, it will discourage smokers from trying these products as an alternative to cigarettes. We can stop this tax from becoming law, but we can’t do it without your help.

HOW TO STOP THIS TAX

(1) SEND A LETTER
It’s quick and easy. Send a prewritten letter using this tool by the vaping advocacy group CASAA. We encourage you to add your own personal story and sign up to receive e-mail alerts from CASAA about this and other legislation impacting Washington residents.

(2) MAKE A PHONE CALL
After you send a letter, you’ll be given the option to make phone calls to your legislators. We highly recommend doing this, as legislators tend to pay more attention to phone calls. There is no reason to be nervous -- you’re just telling an operator your name, address, and respectfully asking that your representative vote NO on HB 2165.

You can also call the Washington State Legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000 and they will take down a message for your legislators.

(3) GET INVOLVED
If you have friends or family who vape or are happy that you switched, let them know about this threat!
Thank you very much for your support.

WA – Stop vaping taxes! - CASAA

Not only is a 60% tax a problem for WA vapers, if HB 2165 passes, it paves the way for WA legislators to increase the minimum age for sale of tobacco and vapor products to 21 (see below), as the vapor tax would replenish the reduction in tobacco tax revenue that would disappear if 18, 19 and 20 year olds cannot legally buy tobacco.

Washington bills (SB 5025, HB 1054, SB 6048) would increase minimum sales age for tobacco/vapor products to 21
Proposed bill would raise age for tobacco, vaping sales to 21 in Washington
