"Throat closing" could be allergic reaction. Some folks have problems with PG or VG. You could try 100% one then the other! see if the problem is less.

"High" nicotine varies a lot between folks. I was a 2 pack a day smoker, you'd think I'd vape at a fairly high level. I don't. 9mg on average. 12mg max. Some folks like "throat hit". I don't. Not even when I smoked. I preferred a "smooth" thing. You could try cutting your nic way down. See what that does.

Also, you didn't say if you switched recently. Often, quitting smoking causes a scratchy or even sore throat. That seems backwards but it happens to some no matter which method they use to quit.

Finally, it is always possible you're getting plain, old sick and it's coincidence. The vaping may have nothing to do with it. I dunno about your area but allergy season down here is pretty freaking bad lately. "Somebody just bury me already" bad. :)

Come to think, we lived a couple of years in MO a bit outside St. Louis when I was a kid. I remember having killer allergies there. Like a freaking flu or something...

I have been vaping for 3 weeks . this week I have cut my cig intake down to about 4 a day compared to 10 or so and just vaping at work . I think the nic level is ok . I was using china made 2.1% I think that is 21mg and my head was floating . I will have to try different levels of pg vg . its just a downer that I have 3 bottles of juice that taste good but it took a week to arrive.

For me the 100% VG is no bueno. Makes me cough and wheeze at night. The 50/50 seems to be best for me. Also I am noticing week by week my nic need level is going down. There is some interesting research out of the University of Berlin that suggest Nicotine itself is not very addictive. The MAOI's (antidepressant) naturally found in tobacco has been condensed and sprayed on our cigs by BIG TOBACCO under the guise of "flavor additive". Anyway change up your blends, lower your nic level. Do some experimenting. Make a log and chart your juice over a 2-3 day time then change 1 variable and chart again for 2-3 days. In a few weeks you will have found your "sweet spot"

A week or so in to vaping, and my throat was pretty scratchy and not feeling all that good as well. It wound up be the precursor of my lungs clearing themselves of all the gunk I put into them from years of smoking. Shortly after, I started coughing up black specks of tar. Once I was done, my throat felt fine.
