watts/volts/amps question

hi all,

question: running my pv at 4V with a 2ohm carto and at 4.9V with a 3ohm carto both yield roughly 8W. but is there a difference in how each affects battery life?

electrically, there is no difference. both will drin the battery the same. 8w is still 8w.
