We need the power to lobby as it were to get people behind us and to help change the minds of those who oppose us. Here is one example of how we can get this power - These people did with no money down ! ( In other words not asking for money from people but for their time)

One Million Moms.com - Other active issues

This organization is part of the American Family Association, a religious group seeking to sway the world to their way of thinking by the participation of so many members.

They have a model that works. They see something they don't like and they go after it in strength of numbers. They have caused the likes of Coke-a-Cola, NBC, Geico, ConAgra, Warner Bros. and others to change thier minds about something even if the company has already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the product or service.

That's pretty powerful. I will leave aside for this discussion the views of if these people are right or wrong for their views in your opinion, the point is they get results.

If we adopted something like this strategy perhaps it could help us spread the truth about e-cigs and cause some of those who oppose us to change their minds.

Some of their tactics we may not use such as threats to these companies but others perhaps might work.

If we tried this, I propose we have a website called OneMillionVapers.com.

Look over these OneMillionMoms pages and tell me what you think.. heck it would even be good if by some small miracle we get these people on our side.

CASAA.org does almost exactly what millionmoms does. in a harm reduction kind of way.
CASAA has a call to action page for people who want to participate. i keep my eyes and ears open to any possible anti-ecig legislation in my local area and will notify CASAA if anything comes up. i also send faxes and e-mails when an action is called up. even if it is not in my local area. it is up to all of us to make it work as well as millionmoms makes it work. CASAA is fighting for our rights, even if the wheels of government move at a snails pace.

family values in my mind does not include any kind of tobacco use. even reduced harm tobacco products.
the 'save the kids' mind set goes hand in hand with these family values, so i doubt millionmoms would even lift an eyebrow to help a harm reduction lobby.

See.. here is my big problem with the CASAA. - You ready for this?

It's just One organization that does things it's way. Which is fine if that way is effective - But it could not hurt the cause to have many organizations all working together using different tools and means.

Why put your eggs all in one basket?

It makes no sense to do that when so much is at stake.

I have had similar conversations with CASAA members before (and yes, I am a CASAA member and Love CASAA). I am not taking away from CASAA by suggesting we have more hip, trendy, organizations all working together.

The CASAA Call to Action is Great but it does it's own thing. OneMillionVapers could attack the problem from a different angle with different tactics.

Nothing wrong with Save the Smokers idea. I do like it but I suggested OneMillionVapers because of the rallying power it brings to mind. People will think, "Oh another organization like the well known OneMillionMoms" and that will have some impact.

Truth be told, I'd like to see someone do a Save The Smokers platform also. The more of these ideas we have and implement the better results we will get as a whole IMO instead of just leaving all the work to CASAA.
