#3 Thanks, Schnarph! Appreciate the advice. I think I will try one more time before I go to bed. I know I can do better. Its not a bad coil, just not amazing. I have watched a ton of videos about building coils tonight. I may have overdosed on them. I want to build a killer coil before Wednesday. My local vape group is having an informal meet and I would love to be able to say I have achieved great things by then. (show off!)
I drove to my favorite b&m today to buy iClear 30 wicks and ended up with an IGO. The owner, a really top notch guy, threw in some silica and kanthal for free. He also gave me some beautiful cobalt blue glass bottles for my diy mixing. I met a couple of the guys from the vape group for the first time while I was there, which was really cool. We sat around chatting for about an hour after the shop closed.
We had our first decent monsoon storm of the season today. Right as I was leaving to drive across town. I drove all the way there in the pouring rain, which probably doesn't seem like a big deal to those of you who live in wet climates. But in the desert, its a combination of miracle and disaster. People here have NO IDEA how to drive in the rain. You'd think they would figure it out, since it does happen every year. But they don't. Every year people drive into flooded washes and underpasses, hydroplane into trees, break at the last second and rear-end the car in front of them, etc etc. We actually have a law here that if you drive into a flooded wash and have to be hauled out, you pay the costs. Its called the "Stupid Motorist Law". LOL

2. 7/2 - I don't suppose anyone here knows where to get hot springs? Or any replacement springs for mods that use 18000 size batteries? It seems like such a common item, but I'm having trouble locating any.

Schnarph, you may have already found this but if not: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/where-can-i-get/66481-aa-flashlight-battery-springs.html

Intrestingly enough, while it is a post from 2010 it was made by the guy who now owns Vapermoon and produces the saber touch mods.

#4 I think I figured out why my IGO-L isn't hitting like it should. I built a new coil, which looked much better and the ohms weren't jumping like the first one was. But it was giving me a harsh throat hit and not much vapor. So i assumed that I probably need a bigger air hole. But then I was looking at the way its built, and I think the problem is that the air hole is too low to line up with my coil. It seems to sit practically flush with the deck, and when I pull it up a little so that it sits on the bottom o-ring instead of all the way down, it hits great. Anybody know how to fix this kind of problem?

Good Morningnite All!

"Uncle" Nice Car!

I have the same problem with my RDA, I assumed it was the air hole too, but maybe I'll get a chance to look at pulling it up a little and see what happens.

Lisa all the food talk and now I'm hungry, but I don't usually eat breakfast.

#5 jpf, is your dripper an IGO? let me know what happens when you get a chance to look at it. I just watched a video of a guy who had the same problem with the airhole being low. He suggested filing down the posts. I'm hesitant to do that to my brand new RBA, especially being the noob that I am.

Tell me what you think.

Ok. With that, I'm going to attempt to sleep for a couple hours before the kids get up. I can't believe I just spent all night watching videos and reading threads about building freaking coils. I don't need another hobby. Good morningnite all!

Howdy all!

Last night's cook fest wasn't quite as productive as I'd hoped, but it was good enough. The biggest problem is having complete the chain of events to even get started: clean out the fridge, load up the dishwasher, go to the store for the week, come back and wash and prep everything. Then the cooking/mixing/making and then the cleanup after. Cooking would be a lot more fun if I had a sous chef :D

I did manage to make up
  • cucumber salad
  • steamed green beans
  • steamed chard
  • steamed kale
  • super green slaw (kale, chard, bok choy)
  • refrigerator pickles (green beans and some chard stems in a brine, but not canned)
  • tuna salad
Bean salad only got halfway done since I didn't get a chance to roast the corn. Apparently that didn't matter much: Dave ate half of what was in the container last night after I went to bed  Oh well, I'll add more beans and onions to the batch once the corn is cooked. I still need to make fruit salad and will sear some of the steamed green beans at some point during the week. Will also make up the boneless country style ribs I got last night at the store, but those might wait until the 4th.

I gotta say, the veggie deliveries have made eating better way easier for me. It's too easy to go to the store and not buy fresh produce because I know it might wilt or go bad before I have the desire to use it. When said produce just shows up at my door on Saturdays I'm forced to take the effort to prepare it: it's already bought and paid for, it's gotta get used! This in turn means it's there for me to eat when I'm randomly in the fridge looking for food. Since my dinner time is typically late at night (10p, after practice), if it's not already cooked and ready to go I'm likely not eating it.
