What kind of clearos are you using? It's probably not the most thorough method but when I used a protank I just dry burned my coils to get most of the gunk off them and rinsed my tank every once in a while.

I'm using a pro-tank and an evod. Been less than thrilled with the airy-hits from my PT though...
I've been switching flavours pretty frequently and some have been plain nasty, and lingering.
I've been dry-burning my coils, then rinsing and burning again but had to get the nastiest out of my tank...

1. 7/17 - i think i covered my vapeware cleaning routine pretty well...
Hey Schnarph, I'm just curious. My gear doesn't exactly come with cleaning instructions. Until my next order comes in, I only have two clearos.(I just switched from stinkies 13 days ago) I said earlier...I am a noob.
I'm not going to delve into this topic any further without some specific questions. I type too much as it is and TMI might not be read, defeating the point. Ask away, I'm glad to explain what I have learned and also enjoy learning for those with more experience and wisdom.

I do that as well, but I rinse the everything in super hot water a couple of times first. Some clearos will have rubber/silicone grommets near the coil that can get scorched when dry burning, remove these if possible. I did discover one helpful tidbit... if you roll a small piece of paper towel around a pencil it will be just the right size to slip into most clearos. This will cut the drying time down to a minute or two. Blow out the atty heads and dab them dry with paper towel, and you are ready to go.

Cartomizers are so much easier to deal with, assuming your e-liquids don't clog them up too fast. I strayed from cartomizers for weeks and I forgot the simplicity I was missing.

I would suggest switching to SS mesh and kanthal. The heads are actually relatively easy to rebuild and I found the taste to be much cleaner using mesh. Plus you have much more freedom to pick your resistance level.

#5 Since its still Tuesday where I am. I have been mixing juices all evening in anticipation of my local vapemeet tomorrow. Just fruity stuff, nothing that needs intensive steeping. LD, you really didn't need to let that peach/pear mix steep for so long! I usually test my fruit mixes out right away. I let them sit (after vigorous shaking) for 15-30 minutes and maybe a hot water bath. I don't even always do that. Sometimes its just shake and vape. For tobaccos and desserts it takes some time for the flavors to blend.

Excited for the meet tomorrow! Its my first ever official vapemeet, and the organizers are some really great people who have done an amazing job putting it together. I volunteered to work the registration table for a couple hours to help out.
In other vapenews, can't wait to get the PV I won!!

Some one correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can use the evod heads in the Protank and tighten up the draw.

I'm only two-weeks into this... I think I'll save RBAs for next month...
I've got a bunch of cheap evod and 1.8z coils coming in a few days. Need a simple drip setup though. Not a rebuildable, just a cheap simple disposable for my winder to use in taste testing.

I've found it will be much more cost efficient to buy flavor and make juice, than buying even sample-bottles to find the basics I'll like. Need a drip so I'm not constantly filling and cleaning clearos.

Once I'm rolling with that, I'll move on to better drip atomizers and winding my own coils... I'm moving too fast already...

I've heard that as well, but it won't work with the coil I got with my Evod from MBV. It's too short and all the juice runs straight up the stem...

Maybe this is something you could look into for a cheap drip setup.

I haven't tried it but i'll take your word for it. I know the tatroe tank works better than the PT and you can use your own drip tip.

Not quite ready to crash a via be backup... yet...
(Where's my GD hammer?)

You shouldn't have to break anything, you're just putting a few parts back together in a different way and you can always reassemble and use your Protank the way it came to you.

I only have one Evod head and it's in a tank full of juice so I can't verify this but to tighten the Protank draw you might be able to just switch the positive pin at the bottom of your replacement head with an Evod pin.

You have been most informative...
The one question I had at the time(I've since come up with 12 unrelated others) was, what is wrong with the Isopropyl Alcohol as a general cleaning agent as it is supposed to evaporate entirely.

Since then I'm pondering what to use for a simple drip atty... If you please assist oh wisest of the Thunder cats? ;-)

Get some bridgeless dripping atties and a drip tip. Cheapest way to go. Easy to clean and change flavors. I forgot where I got mine but they were relatively cheap.

Not sure what I'm looking for there...
