Ahoy hoy everyone!

Been vaping since 2010. I've used many systems throughout the years and many different tank/carto/clearo types. I've never came across this issue before. As it stands now though, I have tried everything to resolve the issue and nothing has worked. I'll describe below.

The Setup:

PV body: I have both an iTaste MVP v2.0 & iTaste VTR 2.0. This is my second MVP (the first one lasted awhile but I replaced it when the internal battery life eventually shortened to the point that it wasn't useful anymore).

Vaping System:I have both an iclear 30s using dual coil 2.0ohm clearomizers and a dual coil cartomizer tank system (the replacement dual coil cartomizers are rated at 2.0ohm). I usually vape at around 4.3v.

The Issue:

For the past 3-4 months or so I have been blowing through cartomizers/clearomizers at an alarming rate. Before, each would last me around 2-3 weeks, and be consistent throughout that whole time. Lately though, I'm lucky if I get 2-3 days out of a single clearomizer or cartomizer. For the first 7-8 hours they work fine, but then the ohms start skyrocketing and eventually get to a point where they won't work (usually around 3.5ohms). I initially thought it was the iclear30s system, so I went back to the old tank/cartomizer system I used for a few years. When the same happened to those, I thought maybe it was my iTaste VTR, so I bought a new MVP 2.0. When it continued to happen at that point I thought maybe it was the juice I was using (since it was a blend of my old daily vaping juice and another), so I went back to just my old juice. When it continued to happen after that I thought maybe it was a bad batch or poor quality control from the online store I purchased the replacement clearos/cartos from, so I bought from other stores.

Needless to say this issue has not been resolved. I have purchased from 4 different online stores, tried 2 different PVs, 2 different systems for vapor production, different juice, etc.. and nothing has resolved it.

Any help would be apprecated, as I've been a happy vaper for for 4 years now, and this issue has only been around for the past 3-4 months. It's annoying the piss out of me, and causing me stress.

Thanks a bunch!

Hmmm...two things stand out mostly - is it a new bottle of the old juice flavor - is it possible the QC issue is there? ( I remember something recently on Dekang I think havent a quality issue and juice burning out coils lickety splits) Also - can test this if the "new" flavor you were mixing is not dark or ultra sweet, run that one alone and see if it continues.

My second thought was that it may be poor QC on a run of coils - but I really feel like that is extremely highly doubtful if it is happening on both clearo coils and tank cartos from various vendors.

Old juice is the only common factor I think?

It has been since i purchased this new batch of juice now that I think about it. I order 3 bottles at a time (each one 100ml). I'll try a different juce and nothing else but that juice in a new one to see if that resolves it. Do you have any links to the info you were posting about the Dekang QC issue with liquids burning out coils? My main juice that I use is DK-Tab, so that could definitely be the issue if it is prevalent.

Not that I hope your juice is bad, but I do hope this may be a resolution for you...I know exactly how frustrating months of insolvable issues can be!

Here is one:

Scoping for more - will edit them in here:

That sounds exactly like my issue, and the date matches (i go through about a 100ml bottle a month, and i just finished off the 3rd)

You could at least with the iclear products short fill the clearos and dry burn between fills if the juice turns out to be the issue.

Otherwise rebuildables may be an option if the juice you have is still to your liking.

If you end up looking for another juice, I presume you'll find some that do the same thing more often than not. Quite a few juices are known coil killers. Should you have the time it might be advisable to research which juices are very coil friendly and try out a few.

That's the reason I switched over to a Kayfun and just build my own coils.

Resistance wire used in replaceable coils these days is made up with resistance wire in the center with non-resistive legs on each side. That prevents the legs from burning the rubber grommet at the pin connection on the bottom of the atomizer. Where the NR legs join the resistive wire, there's a solder joint (it should be silver solder, but I can't confirm that). The solder joints are located right next to the ends of the hot coil and are breaking down. As that happens, the resistance rises and the vape quality falls off.

I've had boxes of these fail in two hours to a day. If you continue to vape and increase to voltage to get the vapor back, the solder joint will finally fail and the atomizer coil will read open in a resistance check. If you take the head apart to recoil it, you will frequently find a leg laying free inside the atomizer body, not attached to the center coil.

New coils are coming out with vertical coil placement. These are supposed to be the fix and are getting rave reviews. I hope we've seen the last of the bad coils.

If the issue is the juice it was just a bad batch as stated in the thread, and has already been rectified. Being as I buy my juice for 3 months at a time, my current batch is almost gone (and i dumped what little i had left just now). A new batch is on order and should arrive within a week or two. I love my main juice, (it's not a dark juice, and doesn't gunk up very much at all) and will stick with it to the end lol.
