I don't buy things to support people who are better off than I am. I buy things that I think I want and are of value to me. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to spend to see if they like a product. Nor is everyone looking for a 'family' based on mutual purchases. I think this exclusivity you all seem to cherish so much turns off a lot of potential buyers. Sell a product based on its merits and value, not on some hokey idea that a person receives a new family because they spend a couple of hundred dollars on an object. Look at provari, same kind of thing. Is it a good product? From all accounts it is, but I'll never own one at the prices they ask. I just want a device that works correctly at a price I consider worth it, whether it's made in the USA, China, or Canada is not really a concern of mine. It's a luxury to be able to buy expensive goods over inexpensive ones. It's a bummer for the individual whose creation is cloned but that is the nature of business. I"ve looked at REO's and never really understood the perceived value. It's not really an exclusive club if anyone who plunks down a couple of hundred dollars can join. Sorry.

I'm not one to argue with your own opinion, to which you have every right, but methinks you have a few misconceptions. The "family" idea is meant in jest, but there IS a wonderful community of REO users, that are more than willing to share their knowledge and advice, all to make the experience that much better for EVERYONE. I'd put Robert's customer service above and beyond what anyone could "reasonably" expect, and the device itself, is quite well engineered, made of the best materials, and lasts and lasts. I've been vaping them since 2011 and I wouldn't even consider using anything else, though I still watch all the "latest and greatest" with interest.

There's nothing "exclusive" about owning a REO, as you pointed out, anyone can, and IS, always welcomed into the "community" with open arms.

Are some folks "over the top" with their praise of such a simple device? Possibly, but I still have, and use, the same one I bought 4 years ago, and it's never let me down. Add to that, that I no longer have to carry a bag full of batteries, juice, atomizers, wire, cotten, silica or whatever, and it's easy to see WHY people are so enamoured of them. It's pretty darn near as simple and reliable as cigarettes, just without the cost and health risks.

I know it *seems* pricey, but it's a one-time purchase. Spread out over years and years of use, they're actually far cheaper than most anything else you buy, whether quality or complete crap. I've only seen 1 or 2 REOs that actually ceased functioning, and those were because what they went through would kill a normal human. I've even seen some that have had those kind of things happen to them be resurrected to full functionality, not by Robert, but by folks that just putter their way through and manage to get them going again.

I truly think, if you bought one, and gave it a chance, you'd realize how very special they are. There simply isn't anything else that produces the reliability and ease/simplicity of use, of a REO. The only "exclusivity" here is the 2 groups, those that have realized what a REO really is, and those that haven't (yet).

I'm not a REO owner, I am an admirer and have been for about two years now. A REO is still on my wishlist, and perhaps when my finances allow, I will own one. I did recently by a cheap bf mod, for $25, which is about all that my bi-monthly vaping budget allows. I would never buy a cloned REO though, too much respect for the man and his innovation.

Just thought I'd throw my :2c: out there.

I am so tight I squeak, but there is only one REO, and I'll gladly pay for the quality and stellar service offered by our friend Rob. As for advertising, I get a kick out of seeing threads all over this forum where someone is looking for a mod. Invariably, one of us recommends the REO, so the word of mouth is out there for sure, it just takes a while to set the hook. When I joined ECF, as I explored around, puffing on my ego, eventually I had seen enough of those recommendations to do some research on them. Once I knew this whole e-cig thing was going to work for me (and I learned how to build a coil), the price didn't seem high to me at all.

I'm going on a year with REOs, and it still makes me happy every time I take a puff.

And, being more of a jerk than AP, I'll provide a tl;dr. Rob backs his mods up thoroughly and forever. And mods do fail. Good luck having a 'forever' mod, along with a community who have broken down and reconstructed their devices so as to learn how to help each other (and yes, Rob still backs us up when we do this), from this gar-un-teed garbage 'replica'. tl;dr your tl;dr, Tony? OK! These things are going to be crap, are going to fail, and you won't get support. You'd get that, forever, from Rob. So get your cheap garbage, be convinced that REOs are overhyped, and move on. I never liked you anyway.

Warren Buffett, a multi billionaire and one if the wealthiest men on planet earth, says that's incorrect.

His entire Portfolio of wealth stems from sales and management of intangibles.

He didn't invent, build, dig, or plant anything tangible.
Becoming wealthy and creating wealth are not the same thing. It's certainly possible to become wealthy without creating wealth yourself. The question is whether it's honest/ethical to do so.

Buffett is a really smart ethical
Guy. Runs Berkshire Hathaway.
He's a wizard with stocks and money management.
Still lives a moderate life in a small house with his wife that he's owned for decades. He is known for being smart, honest, and frugal despite his wealth.
He started out as an investment salesman for a stock brokerage firm.
He's the most successful trader of the 20th century, and worth over 70 billion dollars. Stock brokers call him the Oracle. All from being smart and honest.
Your comment about wealthy is incorrect.

I appreciate all the support folks makes the heart swell . Lets put this to bed we all new it would happen at some point hell I figured it would have happened long ago . Even I am guilty of feeding the machine its hard not to these days . I have used cloned atomizers I don't think I am hurting the company that originally made them they were never intended to be used on my devices and without me modifying them they wouldn't even work on them. I will continue to do what I do build quality mods and support them . Were my company goes from here hard to tell . I would imagine as long as I want to produce mods there will be people willing to buy them .

Haven't seen this mentioned yet. But won't this affect the re-saleability of a Reo? Not that I even plan to sell either of mine, but now I'd be wary of buying a used one. I'd be afraid to get duped and pay authentic value for clone junk.

I doubt any clones would be 1:1 copies - not at that price. There will be tells that show up in pictures (of the actual mod - not the ripped off ones on the site).

Reputable places like ecf also have feedback/reporting mechanisms and rules governing the sale of replicas.

The issue you note is already in play for things like atties and fraud doesn't seem to be an issue.

Many articles that luck played as big a part as brains and timing for Mr. Buffet. Buy low p/e companies and sell high and never alter the course. The market trend sine he started investing has jibed along perfectly for his investment strategy. He would be the first one to tell you he has had much luck.

They used my pictures and my text from my site . The sad part is unless there shipping them to the usa there is nothing I can do about it . Business has been slow for some time I even let two guys go earlier this year . I cant have the bodies and the delrin inserts milled for that price .

Its sad that anything you invent others will be right there like leeches feeding on your success . This was the year I planned to stop investing in the company and try to put some money away . They wont get rid of me but my company will go back to two guys at some point . I can build two many types of mods for them to put me out of business .

It will be the death of modders the sad part is the people will suffer in the end when no one is willing to put the effort into creating new products knowing if it becomes popular it will be cloned or they will move the juice hole a notch and toss there name on it .
Its one thing to make something that has already been done its another to build something new that hasn't been thought of

My name is Robert E O'Neil I put bottom fed mods on the map

I was going to press the "Like" button. But I don't like this post, to me it is a very sad post from Robert. I hate that this is happening and that there appears to be little, if anything, that can be done about it.
I was at one time peripherally involved in patent litigation. My long time client (an almost illiterate genius, an incredible mind) invented an entirely new manner of dealing with a problem created in coal mines. He designed it, made his prototype and got his patent. He was making some money, employing around a hundred people. Then, a large company liked the machine and made a minor change. The company successfully marketed the the machine at a lower price, in competition with my client who was small and had little cost cutting room in his price. Together we found and hired a patent lawyer, he filed suit. The litigation then became so costly and time consuming that my client eventually settled the case. My client's thought, investment and ingenuity (in some sense, his child) was stolen, simply stolen by a company who made a minor change. Due to the thief's superior financial position, my client was starved into submission. The day the settlement agreement was signed was one of the saddest days of my legal life.
I am saddened hearing Rob say these things about his business.
