Wells Fargo's Bonnie Herzog has estimated $4.4 Billion in vapor sales in US in 2017.

For comparison, below are Herzog's vapor sales estimates for the US since 2014.
2017 $4.4 Billion total, $3B PVs & e-liquid, $1.4B e-cigs
2016 $4.1 Billion total, $2.5B PVs & e-liquid, $1.6B e-cigs
2015 $3.5 Billion total, $2B PVs & e-liquid, $1.5B e-cigs
2014 $2.5 Billion total, $1.1B PVs & e-liquid, $1.4B e-cigs

"PVs" are premium vaporizers with open tanks,
while "e-cigs" include cigalike closed system disposables and those with replaceable cartridges.

Notice that sales of PVs and e-liquid have skyrocketed from $1.1B in 2014 to an
estimated $3B in 2017, while cigalike sales have remained flat since 2014.

Over the years, I've considered Bonnie's estimates for vapor product sales to be pretty close and consistent.

Looks like the doubling of sales every year is over...
The campaign against ecigs has been intense. It doesn't take much to discourage smokers from trying to switch.

One the bright side sales volume is relevent to businesses with expenses to cover and owers to satisfy but it may not be a good measure of what smokers are doing because vaping can be so ridiculously cheap compared to smoking. At my work place I estimate there are 10 smokers and 5 vapers. A couple of smokers vaped for a while and went back to smoking. There is a dual user. I don't give up on those cases. When the mood strikes them again to stop smoking they are vaping or they know how to vape so their chances are much better. The Wells Fargo lady is focused on business reslults not the public's health.

I wonder for PV's and e-Liquids, what Market Share went to PV's and what Market Share went to e-Liquids?

Also, I wonder How Much Individual Consumption drove the e-Liquid Sales Amount? Verses More Individual Users?
