I've been vaping for 3 months, without a single analog. Well, Sunday I went out riding with my brother and my ego battery died. Rather than risk ripping my brothers face off with my bare hands due to nicotine withdrawal, I bummed a few smokes from him. Before I lit up, I was worried I would relapse after realizing how awesome smoking tobbacco was. Not the case. It tasted horrible. As soon as I got home I grabbed my spare battery and went back to vaping. Never even gave a second thought to going back to analogs. God I love vaping!

I wish that was the same case with me. I was vaping for over a year when I received a phone call from my sister back home. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. It had metastasized in her liver and she was given 3-4 months. I came home and cared for my mother until she passed away on September 10th, 2010.

My mother was a smoker for over 55 years. You don't smoke for that long and walk away unscathed. (Her words not mine) She continued smoking up until the week she passed.

I say this because while you'd think that watching my mother go through this would have been a huge deterrent to going back to analogs--it wasn't. Call it stress, weakness on my part, plain crazy. I'm trying right now as we speak to get back on the e-cig horse, but it's just not as easy as it was the first time.

Any suggestions friends?

Wow Michele... How heartbreaking..... don't beat yourself up over the worry of getting back on ecigs....just keep it around and keep using it....after a while,,,,it will become more natural to you to vape.....I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing....it is not easy, not matter what ailment they had.....
Good luck and keep us updated as to where you are...
:)

I lit an analog two weeks into vaping. I was only able to take a few drags and put it out. About a month later I took a road trip with a smoking friend. She smoked in my car and I got the fleeting urge to just ask her for a cig and light it. Then I remembered how horrible it would taste and I just kept vaping, never to look back. The way cigs taste after gaping a while it makes you wonder why we ever started in the first place.

I've been off and on my Ego for the past year or so, mainly because I lost my bottle of Atomic Cinnacide and then, recently, my 1 atomizer, that I've been using for a YEAR (!) finally gave out. Now I'm back to analogs until I can save up enough money for a smart PV, like the Provari or Darwin.

I'm so sorry for your loss Michele. But in terms of getting back on c-cigs, I would suggest investing in quality devices and e-liquids. Don't overpay for the replaceable parts like the atomizers. Stock up on the important stuff and try to make it more economical than analogs. Eventually, there will be more reasons than your health that you'll stay away from them. And on top of that, once you're on E-cigs for more than a certain time period, going back to analogs even once is just plain disgusting and you'll be eager to get back to vaping.

What nicotine level are you using in your e-cigs? You might need to increase it some for a short period of time and then go back down to where you were at previously.

MoonRose,

Originally I started at 10mg...then eventually went up to 16mg. Currently I'm between a 16-24mg. I feel like the mg's are sufficient, it's the lack of strength of the device?? I'm wanting a.....fuller hit, so to speak? Does that make sense?

The device - after getting a GoGo I HAD to cut my nic levels down as I can hit the GG way harder. It is a bigger diameter

I quit analogs in 09 and vaped for several months; then little by little went back to analogs for a while. I'm now back to vaping again. Don't worry. The worst thing you can do, IMO is to consider going back to smoking a failure. For me its a back and forth thing and if it takes a year or two thats OK, Heck I smoked for 45 years! Sometimes it takes a bit to kick it.

Is the GoGo the same as the Tornado? It looks the same to me. I have one of those and it doesn't hit any different than my 510 does.

No I am not familiar with the Tornado but I think it is 510 sized

To my knowledge only the GoGo and Echo have the larger diameter it is even bigger than 810 as I use an 810 tip that fits INSIDE my GoGo carto.

I've very sorry to hear about your mother. Watching cancer take a loved one is one of the harder things I've experienced in my life.

If you're looking for a bigger hit, you might try a higher voltage device or a LR atty. I've had really good luck with my Infinity and regular cartomizers, but I don't have any experience with a GoGo or some of the newer models.

My condolences.

The best for me is 5 volts and a 3.0 ohm standard atty. I suppose, if I wanted to use the eGo style stuff, a 2.0 ohm atty and a 3.7 volt model like a mod or the Riva.

The 5v hit is more "full" - 5 volts has "oomph". None of that "slow drag" stuff. Hits like a cig. Doesn't fry the device since it is designed for "oomph".

An easy way to try 5v and see if you like it is:
http://www.madvapes.com/MadVapes-5-Volt-510-Manual-USB-Passthrough_p_2155.html
http://www.madvapes.com/2-amp-AC-to-USB-Adapter-ideal-for-Passthroughs_p_2357.html
+ a standard 3.0 ohm atty.

All purchased PT's are a bit notorious for failing after a few months, particularly if you get the button wet or stress the cord. But, it's a good way to try 5 volts, and is a handy spare e-cig if you have standard atomizers for it (say, if your charger fries, batteries die, etc.)

The 5v PTs don't have a battery so you use the AC adapter. I don't suggest stressing a computer USB port.

michele-- first i am sorry for your loss

second i have very limited experience, but thought i would pass this on. I have tried quite a few of the different ecigs, and the first one that gives me that same power/feel/warmth and quantity of vapor that feels like an analog is the one i just got . the V3 at 6volts. (puresmoker.com).
I am still on a learning curve, in fact, looking for advice on cartomizers for it today. but, this thing is really helping. just an idea. good luck
