I moved 2 months ago and I ran out of a couple of my medications so had to find a new doctor today. When he asked me about smoking and I told him I quit smoking Sept 2nd using an electronic cigarette, he was thrilled. He told me he had a few patients using them and they did great with them. Then he asked me if I had been having any trouble quitting and I told him no, I love my e-cig and make my own nicotine juice now and have even started lowering the percentage of nicotine I had been using, he told me that was great and to keep doing what I am doing. It is nice to have the support of your doctors, everyone needs positive feedback on such a life changing process and is nice to know the medical establishment is seeing that pv's are a good thing.

Congrats Lisa B on being tobacco free!!

My doctor said pretty much the same thing. He even said he has several patients who've been using ecigs successfully.

My oldest son is a second year med student and is happy as punch that I am vaping (he's begged me to get off cigarettes since he was very small).

I think most Dr.'s see that its a healthier alternative.

Wonderful! I had the same experience with my Doctor. He was thrilled and said he wished all of his smoker patients would do the same. Previously he was telling me to stop smoking because he didn't like the lung sounds. I went back for a 6 month check and as usual he was checking my lungs and told me "it sounds like you have a new set of lungs" and THAT is when I showed him the Joye 510. I've never seen a Doctor so happy!

Congrats to ALL of you! That is so great!

I went to see a neurologist last Monday and I told him that I quit smoking over 4 weeks ago and told him I've been vaping instead. He looked at me and Shellie and said, "I wish I was the one who invented e-cigs!" LOL

True story. The guy who invented these bad boys probably has his own island these days. ;)

More importantly to hear, it's awesome to hear that some of your doctors are being supportive of the switch.

No kidding!! These PV's are one of the greatest inventions EVER! Lol That's how I feel about it, anyway. I wouldn't have een able to quit analogs if it wasn't for these.

And it is pretty awesome that there are docs that are supporting these things. Even a psychologist I had to see for some tests said he has heard nothing but good things about them.

It's great to see some doctors approving of it. I told my psychiatrist about it and he was very interested in it, especially with the high prevalence of smoking among psych patients. I showed him how it worked and everything and he's interested in getting one himself as he used to smoke regular analogs and has since switched to cigars. He said that he's looking forward to seeing my progress and will recommend it to some of his other patients once he sees how I do with it.

My doctor hounded me for years to quit. One day, while I was getting a checkup, I could smell her. I ripped her a new .... for yelling at me all these years since she smoked as well. She broke down and asked how I quit. I pulled out me ecig and showed her how it worked. I gave her several websites to order a kit. She told me that she always hated prescribing drugs to help people because she knew they didn't work. Gums and patches don't either. Now, she vapes happily with the rest of us and so far hasn't fell off the wagon yet. She's 2 weeks behind me. She now tells patients that have tried everything to stop, with no good results, to buy an ecig. At least, they will only be getting their fix without all the other garbage to go with it. I'm glad to see that even doctor's have minds of their own without the medical industry pushing them in their direction.
