We're "Tobacco Users"

Awhile ago I saw a post about somebody asking if they were a "tobacco user" because of the nicotine in eliquids. It is refined from tobacco so I guess indirectly we would be but here's the question I have. Couldn't the nicotine technically have been refined from one of the other plants in the family of tobacco? If the nicotine was refined to the point were it was as pure as possible, what would be the difference? Obviously there's a reason or we'd be getting nicotine from something else. Is it cost, complexity? Do the other plants that contain nicotine have some other chemical that's hazardous?

From what I've gathered, other plants that do have nicotine in them don't have a high enough amount in them. It would cost so much more to get nic out of them. Not to mention how many more of those plants would have to be harvested.

Trying to extract nicotine from other plants is cost prohibitive. No one is currently selling e-liquids extracted from other plants, although from post I've seen recently a few must be claiming they are.

Don't worry about it. If by some miracle we're able to pull nicotine out of, say green tomatoes cost effectively we'd be able to call ourselves 'tobacco free' but then those that want our money will change the question to 'do you use nicotine' and still charge us more for insurance.

I'm pretty ticked off atm because it's out in the open that all they want is our money. Remember, it's for the children! I haven't even been talking to any ANTZ but I'm itchen to tear into 1 or a dozen.
