I am new at this. After building my first 2 and juice all over my hand dripping out of the air vents, I got my box of washers or O rings out and improved every single place I could possibly put one. And it stopped. I found the worse place is where the "cup or bell" shaped piece goes over the coil, the edge is difficult.

The other thing is that I was getting hardly any vapor. So I checked everything over and redid the cotton and watched the coil fire and see what's happening. I could adjust from there. Mostly position of coil. I ordered a new mod because I have one where wire goes around the screw and it's a PIA. I'm getting the one where the wire ends go into holes and are held by screws inside the hole.

I got the boras a few weeks ago and it always seemed to leak around the air holes. I thought it was the design of the tank however after playing with aromamizer supreme this past week the AS has really surprised me. No leaks.. Basically same design but the AS has a independent jfc where as the Boras has a jfc that is also the air flow control. Id shelve the Boras but the vapor is just so much more dense than the AS. Im sure it has something to do with the air intake but since the AS doesn't leak I tend to use it unless at home then the Boras is king.

Very surprised no one has mentioned the Augvape Merlin here yet.

I got the Merlin a couple months ago based on recommendations from fellow ECF members and I am very impressed.

My previous ADV was a Goliath V1 (~2 years) and I thought for a very long time nothing would beat it for a DL RTA in flavor...the Merlin beats it. Top fill is a nice bonus.

I get very little leaking, but I also don't really carry it around in my pocket either.

The only gripe I have with the Merlin are the grub screws...they can cut your wires if your not careful, and are easy to strip with the included hex key.

Same time I got the Merlin I got a Kayfun V5...hate it. Too restrictive for DL (for me) and much less flavor than even the Goliath.

Can you tell me where you got replacement grubs from? Just picked up a Theorem today and would like to put the Mini back in rotation with it and my Griffin.

Just got a Theorem in the mail today and I was amazed at the packaging and all the extra stuff. And a coil and wick already installed , and another ready to go.

I got an avocado in the mail as well and upon opening the box it didn't make the grand impression that the Theorem did. Both are nice, but it was nicer opening the Theorem box up.

Last night I double o-ring'd everything I could. I wicked the thing the best I could. I put it together and filled it up and put it aside to let it soak. It leaked all over the place. So next move is the trash.

I had tried everything to get those air hole leaks to stop. Failed all the way around. I guess some of these things are really junk. I'm hoping to have better luck with the bottom tanks.

I think you will really like the Theorem. I have had no leaking what so ever. I am using a spaced coil made with 24g Kanthal at 39w. Res is a .55. Good flavor and works great with max VG. You will need the trim those wicks though. Way too much cotton. My wicks are about 3/4 down into the tank.
I am going to get a Avocado also. I like that you can build/adjust on it with out having to drain the tank.

sapper, compared to the Theorem, the avocado is not the same caliber. I guess it works fine, but it was a real let down opening the box after I opened the Theorem box. They both don't leak and I like being able to see the coil in the glass. But they both are not what I like for vaping. Too open and airy even with most of the vents shut.

So my Wife and I have been through many tanks, most from Kanger, and they all leak. I have been building coils for couple years now and do not want disposable coils (they suck). She has a nebox that leaks so much it's useless. Our other tanks leak now too. I still have a nebox but they seem to have a life of less than a year before issues become non-stop. Changing o-rings etc...I just want a good box and good tank, that runs like it's supposed to. We usually run about 30W on regular basis. High VG juices.

Im looking towards Lemo, Billow, kayfun??? What can you guys/gals recommend for us?

Thank you!

Go grab a 29 dollar Provari, slap a Kayfun (take your pick) on it, and yer done. [emoji41]

I agree completely with it being a airy RTA. I vape with the airflow wide open from the top. For me, it is pretty close to a perfect vape. It does look way cooler than the Avocado:thumb:

Yeti you inspired me to try the merlin its now on order.....

There are many on the Merlin thread who experience liquid seepage from the edges of the circumference at the bottom of the Merlin…..it ranges from a small puddle to some micro droplets….the fault has been cited as the iffy quality of the press fit between the base and the airflow ring that seals onto it.

It's a 50-50 chance of getting it …. I get a little but I have to keep unscrewing my tank and wiping it off every 20 minutes, thanks to OCD.

Leaking tanks has a lot to do with wicking & O rings. If your wicking is rite & your O rings are to.
Your tanks shouldn't leak. I have many tanks & don't have many leaking issues, unless I leave a tank in a really hot car or some thing along those lines.
Check your wicking closely, it can be a fine line between to much & to little.
A lot of the tanks mentioned in this thread I have, & like I all ready said I have very little leaking issues :)

Historically Kay-Funs have always been good for not leaking. The V5 is pretty much a restrictive lung hit :)

I was wondering, are we talking leaking just under normal outside temperatures? I've had a little leaking (pre-made coils and cartos in tanks, not RTAs) when it's either really hot out or when I leave my mod in the car. I would guess that if the temperature was such that the vapor pressure increased, a certain amount of juice would escape through the vents. I guess I could close down airflow control all the way.

I have 3 tanks that have never leaked and two of them Ive left in sunlight in car.
Eleaf melo 3 mini,Aspire Cleito, and so far my subtank mini hasn't leaked but it's the one I suspect could leak easier.
I carry my melo 3 and Cleito in my front pants pocket as I work all day doing many things.Never a drop.
I gave up on vaping several years ago because of tanks leaking, flooding or dry hitting. After watching a subtank mini produce clouds of vapor hit after hit I had to try again.Luckily I did and was and still am impressed on consistency and life of drop in coils.
I wind my own coils for RDA and subtank but screw in coils do work better than I ever thought possible.Better than 3-4 years ago for sure.
