Wet MVP 2.0 :{

here's another reason im glad I stopped smoking.

I woke up this morning on the couch....(long inappropriate story intentionally not shared).....fished around for my mvp2.0 and found it upright in a bowl with 3cm of beer in it.--don't ask....

Pulled it out of the bowl, wiped it clean, took a vape to clear my head ..and no problem..worked like a charm. So i went to top it up with power (not beer) and ohno.....when connected to charger and outlet it flashed its initial red yellow green...and then it just kept doing that...it wouldnt stay green to indicate charging was in progress.
Panic...pulled it out of charger, ran to the kitchen (which looked like my head felt)....found a kilo of uncooked rice and stuck it in the middle. then i wrapped the burlap sack of rice in an airtite plastic bag. There it sits.

update to follow when i remove it in 10 hours.


at least i didnt burn to death though i never smoked in bed.

anyone with a similar story...maybe with a happy ending????....anyone????

I dropped my iTaste vv3 into a half a glass of water the first day I got it. Slipped out of my hand on the way to the charger and just so happened I had the water on the counter so I could take some Aleve. It was dead...I tried rice and all. It was dead. On the plus side, that was how I got my Provari (gift from some of the Provarinati!) as well as my nifty avatar and Provarinati signature. I think you will be needing to buy yourself a new MVP, painful as it seems.

Oh no! I just got my MVP 2.0 yesterday. I would be very upset to lose it so quickly. (I only have 2 ego style batteries, a 1300 and a 350 for emergencies) I hope the rice works!!!

Eeek! Your problem here is that 1.) You used it while it was still wet. And 2.) You connected it to a power source while it was still wet. <= The bad one.

All you can do is wait and see whats you gets after the rice treatment. But I would give it at least 24 hours - not ten.

I will never have that problem. Vaping has control of my life. I used to drink a pot of coffee every morning and 2 or 3 beers a day. Now a half a cup of coffee in morning and about 1 beer every three weeks now, doesn't taste as good now as it did when smoking. But I will always keep on vaping. Not that I have a choice with all the money I have invested in it now go back to smoking and wife would kill me.

My opinion here so take it for what's been paid for it.

After somehow getting your device wet, don't turn it on as that'll almost surely make it toast. Drain what you can out of it and then immerse it in alcohol, the higher the percentage the better. The alcohol will absorb the water in the liquid. You may need to drain and soak in fresh alcohol many times. Following that, allow it to air dry for several days. Stick it in rice if you feel the need as it can only help.

The alcohol won't conduct electricity and will tend to loosen gunk that got inside. Assuming it works after all that, all you gotta concern yourself about is your device causing a fire.

If you feel like have to be completely safe, dispose of it properly and never look back.

ok home now again....looks like 3cm was exaggerated it was more like 1cm (for you metric hold-outs south of my frosty border that's 0.393701 of an inch). no evaporation as bowl was sealed by cover (why i did that at 6am I have no idea)

+1 for figuring out... The wife + spat = lumpy couch and beer ( the almost empty beer bottle had been knocked over into the bowl ..as if that makes sound better!)

we'll wait 24 hours for verdict....im sure you are all on the edge of your seat

Beer is a different animal though. I'd let it dry, take the bottom plate off and clean it with alcohol. Even if it doesn't work, you're only out $40.
