Hey all, I have a question for the experienced diy'ers out there to help me solve a problem.
I recently received a new bottle of 100mg nic from a supplier I've used before and a day or two later received new flavours from a different vendor that I've also use many times.
One of the flavours I was particularly excited to use was Capella Pear. Like a child with a new toy, I ripped open the parcel the second I walked in the door and mixed up a batched of pear according to recommended percentages (10%).
Of course I tried it immediately without any steep, actual time or artificial, and found the taste....peary!
Just what I was hoping for
I put the bottle away for the night and tried it in my dripper the next morning. Still tasted pretty good but there was a weird "wet paper"ish aftertaste now. I had also mixed up a 5ml test of Inawera Mango (@3%) the night before so tried that. Same aftertaste. The Inawera Pineapple I mixed at the same time, same aftertaste.
There were two common denominators in all these mixes; new nic and new vg (which a friends wife got from the pharmacy she works at).
This morning I made test batches of 100% vg (new) no nic, 100% vg (old) @3mg nic and grabbed a bottle of salted custard I'd prepped and set aside for steeping a couple weeks back (before I received any new supplies). I then cleaned/re-coiled/re-wicked 3 drippers and sat down to test each and isolate the problem.
Oddly, both the 100% vg new and old/3mg have the aftertaste.
I went through my vape cupboard tasting old mixes thinking I was suffering from vapers tongue but all was as it should be.
Any ideas?
