Working on another mod now, just waiting on the dna board....and some other bobbles....will post up pic's when I get-r-done...according to the datasheet, looks promising....

Yes, it does...very promising. The first thing that came to mind was mounting one in a GGTS.....12w of goodness in a great PV. Installing one in a box mod will be fairly straightforward.

I just ordered one. All kinda antsy, now. I've been waiting for this for months! I tried talking my future step-son into reverse engineering the Kick for me to be able to use it in a boxmod/bottomfeeder. That didn't come to fruition, though.

Alas, it can be ordered directly from Evolv:
Our Products « Evolv

Brandon and the guys @ Dimension Engineering are waiting on a few parts, but production should begin within the week by my best guess. My best guess is unofficial. Take it FWIW.

I'm excited and my fiancee has made comments about it, so it's probably obvious lol!

I think this has changed the game as far as us modders/builders go. I'm actually anticipating merging my VmodXL feed system into a slightly larger box with an 18650, charging port-wired to the DNA12 and a USB solar charger that can be removed or substituted for a regular USB charger. I already have a few chargers that will work for the DNA12, as the spec sheet indicates.

Aw jeez I think I'm vibrating with excitement. This is sooo cool!

I'm thinking of using 2 of these batts (parallel) for 1800mah....but we will see...

All-Battery.com: Tenergy Li-Polymer (602566) 3.7V 900mAh 10C Battery
No need for 2 batts with 10C discharge. That puts you at 20C. Overkill defined. You canget by with 2 of the same size batteries with higher capacity (say, 5C) in parallel for a 10C discharge. There are some protected cells that provide lower discharge current, but hella higher capacity. Two of these in parallel give you the discharge capacity that the DNA12 needs to operate.

From the Evolv DNA-12 datasheet.....

A single cell rechargeable lithium chemistry battery is recommended. Either a lithium ion or a lithium polymer type can be used. Any battery used should be rated for a MINIMUM of 5 amps continuous discharge current. High C rated lithium polymer or IMR cylindrical cells are strongly preferred.

So I should be ok with the battery. I am not good at this battery stuff and moding yet.

I will keep watching to see what every one else is going to be using.

Any thoughts on this battery. for use with the Evolve Moders Chip. I got two already for another project already on hand.

MNKE IMR26650 3.7v High Drain Li-MN Battery - Avid Vaper
Great battery, but a bit overpriced there (bought mine for $10), but I think they aren't being made anymore so get them while you can.

At a crazy 7A drain they still get ~3600mAh at a 3V cut-off (Panasonic likes to inflate their mAh by taking theirs down to 2.5V).

Thanks for the info. I will be picking up a few extras this week.

Where did you get them for $10.00

Yep, I was working on a Kick'd mod but dropped that one...the DNA mod is my focus now....my goal is a small mod with recessed tank and micro USB charging port...we will see...going to be fun....

I'm Brand new to modding and gathering info to build my first mod. I also would like to build a mod such as you described. I wanted to build something like the Vmod xl but with a recessed carto tank and 18650 battery.

I'm wondering if I should wait for the DNA 12 display window to come out. What type of potentiometer do you plan on using?.

I work construction and I use my Provari at work.I carry my PV in my side pocket of my carpenter jeans and its too long and catches on things when I'm working. I ripped the tank off once and had to suffer all day with nothing to vape until I got home.
