Is there any way to find out what a switch is rated at? I have a couple of cool looking switches that I have raided from things but don't know if they are rated at. How could I go about finding out without asking the manufacture. Is there a way to safe way to test it with out buying tons of test equipment?

There is really no way to test a component to determine what amperage it is rated for. The only thing that you can really measure in an out of circuit component, is resistance. And that tells you nothing about what amperage the component is rated for. Outside of finding a part number that you can look up or ask the manufacturer about, there just aren't any other options.
