I have a week old texas tuff tank~ was going to add more fluid to the tank and noticed alot of lil specs of black... Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is?
Is the tank damaged, how do I fix it??! Is it going to continue to do this?? I think thats why my filter all the sudden started gunking up too, I have to poke the bottom of the carto every now and then when the draw gets really hard. :confused:Ty for any responses =)
~gonna try to add picture~ :p

 yay I got it to work! lol
btw this is the first tank I have used that I actually love, only having it for a week~ have not taken it apart or nothing so these lil black specs are from? I was guessing the rubber but it's not like I'm sliding it up and down or taking it apart... going back to my atomizer til I figure out what to do and if I can salvage my tank/carto. Ty again for any input or advice! ;)

It came with the tank~ so Ive had it for a week. No there is no burnt taste or anything works like a charm then gets alil gunked up. I use my diy needle tip to clear around the bottom of the carto and its back to reg vaping. I have a joytech 510 battery I think, it has 2 settings but I only use the higher one. the carto is a standard 35mm prepunched.

I have the black specks too, but only after I've been using a tank for a while without changing the O-rings - the rings will start to disentegrate - they take a lot of punishment with pushing the cartos in and out frequently. But you say yours is only a week old - I don't know - maybe the O-rings in the tank were old to begin with?? Just a guess...good luck to you in figuring it out! :)

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that by "but it's not like I'm sliding it up and down or taking it apart..." you mean you haven't been cleaning it out? If that's the case it is really something you should do once and a while, if not at least a couple of times a week. I don't know how you are managing to burn out the carto fill, unless it's a DCT... I've never had any dang luck with DCTs, but just flushing out the carto may clear out some of the burnt filler.

Flushing with filtered water won't hurt anything but it takes a while for them to dry out, usually a day-ish.

Issues with carto-hassle is pretty much why I extensively use clearomizers.

Oh didnt realize they needed to be cleaned out. im new to tanks, i have a few of the clearomizers and they just didnt work for me. but good to know- when u say clean out what exactly do you do? Im gonna order some more carts being that i wasnt sure how this tank was gonna work and didnt want a bunch of carts with huge holes on the side to sit and gather dust if it didnt pan out LOL :D

Ty everyone for the responses :)
Im gonna go with the problem being the O-rings. unless its possible to burn a carto and not taste/smell it, and still works good. But I will replace it when my order comes in with them just to be on the safe side  didnt know the filter would let out black specs though thats good to know =)
Was just concerned what the specs were and didnt want to mess my stuff up lol ;)

I've found black gunk in my connections before, but I only noticed it after I started learning to drip. I chalked it up to juice that burnt up when it leaked through the atty. After a bit of research, found that using VG has a higher chance of burning up your atty than PG. Don't know how true that is, but I usually use more VG than PG.
