Is that a steamer? Steam is a wonderful thing (even outside our vapor!) It's amazing, we've spent billions on special coatings for cooking pots and pans to make them easier to clean (and which make us sick) yet steam and a steel wool on a properly seasoned pan cuts through everything.

(Ignore, I just read it's a dryer!)

No, it's not. But, I do have a wonderful professional steam cleaner. It is a motorcycle dryer. Forced filtered heated air. Have to hold onto the gear good! But she dries out all the nooks and crannies!

That's a nice system, definitely. I have only one reasonable recommendation for improvement. Instead of a 480 gig solid state drive, consider getting something smaller, like 120 - 128 or 256 gig SSD (depending on what's on sale) to use as a fast boot drive, then a larger 3 or 4TB platter drive for storage. You can re-map your libraries (My Documents, My Music, etc) to use the large drive. You'll end up with tons more storage and probably save a little money at the same time.

Otherwise, this configuration screams, "I have no girlfriend." Do you play a lot of games? Do you do 3D modelling? If not, then you'll probably never use all the horsepower this config boasts, and I recommend going with something less shiny.

I am partial to Windows 7 also.... Now the hard drive configuration....If I use 2 then do I need a RAID set-up?
I know this is a gaming set up...but I am a overkill kind of person... I am looking for a set-up that will last for 5-7 years without getting out dated......My Son plays some games I guess with this set-up I will have to get one......

I too am an 'overkill' kind of person. Whenever I build a system, I do overkill. I hate changing computers! I build the best money can do, within reason(kinda), and keep it for many many many years. My IT counterparts used to be shocked at the systems I would build, and the cost. But, they were all buying new systems annual. Mine would keep me happy for a very long time. :)

I tried Windows 8, and hated it. I would say 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you wouldn't set the drives up as a stripe or a RAID mirror. You'd simply have your solid-state drive as drive C:, and your storage drive as drive D:. Keep all your music, movies and pictures on drive D:

In 7 years of building computers, I've never set any hard drives in RAID. Only used one, or two as mentioned in the same exact setup as rojo. 80% of my parts came from Newegg, with TigerDirect being a close second. Love both of them, and never had any problems with either.

River, your setup is absolutely gorgeous. I'm jealous.. Since I have to keep being reminded that a good junk of us are geeks, I have a little project that should be done by the end of this weekend. Geeks should love this. I'm transforming my Macbook Air into a very decent gaming laptop thru an external egpu (Nivida GTX760). Hopefully Ill post some pics on the off-topic sub if everything goes according to planning.

PS- Rojo, you gonna love this :2cool:
