As stated elsewhere on this forum, I am abusive to my e-cig. Abusive isn't even strong enough of a term.

I have a joyetech 510, which I got from cignot (GO GIRLS!!)

I always have my e-cig with me. I work several jobs. One is driving a wrecker - cold, wet Wisconsin winters. These things have been dropped in the snow, driven over and ground into the mud/gravel, dropped, thrown, ect. I make vinyl signs and am always running, bending, stooping - which translates into losing, dropping, and dropping some more. In my spare time, I am an avid gear head - wrenching in the grease, grime, ect. Like I have said, my e-cig has been through everything - dropped in a car's fan blade, left outside to freeze, even run through a wire wheel (yes, it fell in a grinder's wire wheel, went all the way through, and shot out onto the floor!)

As far as usage, I'm far from nice to it. Right out of the box, it got fired up and used hard. Every day. It only gets cleaned when the pull gets unbearably hard, and that consists of a pot of boiling water for a minute or so. I direct drip, and normally end up flooding it. On occasion, it gets run dry....and I mean DRY.

I bought this thing in the begining of Sept. I have used (95% of the time) just one of the two attys. I can't kill it!

Now as far as the little plastic covers over the lights.....well, I don't think those lasted 24 hours...

I've had a on a few occasions my button being pressed while in my pocket because i was crouched down working on something. Its always resulted in a lot of swearing because it was burning my leg . . and then more swearing because it hurt like hell when i grabbed it to pull it out of my pocket.

And after every time, i'm just sad because i'm positive i just killed it. But it still works like new, and i still haven't learned a damn thing :p

I've had the exact same experience. I got two 306a attys to begin with, and later ordered five 510s. One of the 306s is dead, but it didn't burn out - it actually fell apart after 5 months of hard use. Four out of the five 510s are still in their nifty little white boxes.

Oh, my 510s also came from CigNot.

As for the plastic cover over the LED, I logged in tonight to see if anyone knew how to take it off of a battery that arrived DOA and put it on to one of the batteries I've been using for several months. I'll be posting that question as a new thread in about 2 minutes from now...

Whenever I have to pull out a new atty.... I open the package and look down into the bridge. If I see a nice big-ole piece of supplemental wick sitting out the side of the bridge, I can say with some confidence that we'll be friends for a good long time. If I can hardly see the wick at all.... I know that we're not going to be getting along too well.

(P.S. Had to make a "new friend" just this morning..... *sob*)

"Disclaimer: These tips are designed to break your atty if you are currently in possession of an unbreakable atty and desire to join the broken atty club. Here are a few tips for you then, since your just not part of the club till one breaks or dies:

1. Take a tweezers, like the ones on almost any site with ecig stuff, poke and prod around the atty for threads and pull on them. These are bad things down there, you really don't want them. I'm sure they fell off the filler from the cart anyways right? Make sure you pull extra hard on some, they get "stuck" under the atty mesh.
2. Try double stuffing your cartridge with two fillers! You can now hold twice the amount of juice! Then while the cart is on tightly twist it so the button matches the mouthpiece for convenient finger placement. Make sure you keep twisting till you hear a snap. This means its in the right place. Don't worry when the mesh bridge falls out after a few puffs of nothing and opening it up to check on it, this is normal.
3. Put objects into the hole on the side of the atty, this helps the cleaning process greatly. Make sure you push until you hear a little noise.
4. Attempt to pull the bridge up a little, ok maybe a lot, to clean under it. Twisting and turning it helps this process along.

These methods are extremely effective at breaking the 901 atty, I'm not sure if they work 100% on 510, I just might have to try my luck.

I boil mine at night before bed and let it dry overnight.

Been using this one for 2 weeks, if I get 2 more I'll be happy.

I even use Crest Pro Health once a week or so, not sure what all this does. But I am fairly convinced they won't last forever.

I think if you get one that has been a champ for a couple months, consider yourself one of the lucky ones.
