New Pet Peeve: people who think I'm actively trying to scare people away from this forum, and away from vaping. (?)
If I scare anyone off, it's an unintended consequence of explaining what I think are the indisputable advantages of variable voltage over constant voltage, now available at a very modest cost premium. It is certainly not intentional, since I care very deeply about the 440,000+ Americans who die every year from smoking, and of course, the millions worldwide who do the same.
And since my own father died from smoking at age 66, it would be an odd son indeed who actively sought to discourage people from vaping, since it's such a wonderful alternative to smoking and its deadly and health-robbing ravages.
Meh....just let the dude chill with a normal device first. Maybe in time, human nature will lead him to VV.
Meh .... just let the dude have an optimum vape with a VV eGo-class battery right from the get-go.

And I encourage you not to conflate "expressing one's views according to science and reason" with a sentiment that one is superior to others. Not sure where you get that notion.

. Actually I have a similar situation except no decorating. Japan is the land of hand delivery. There are millions of vans, scooters and trucks delivering things all day long - from 8 in the morning to 10:30 at night. So even though I really TRY to IGNORE and not rush to the door each time a delivery scooter, truck or van comes my way, it's just not possible. Unfortunately my doggy knows every single one of them and goes mad telling me that a tasty ankle is coming his way lol...
My pet peeve...members who run around to other threads in secret and bad mouth others. Seems rather cowardly to me.

Look, if anyone reads that thread and comes to the conclusion that I have no reason to complain about the treatment I got in there, great, I'll take a chill pill and have a good vape. But man oh man, I put a lot of time and effort into trying to help people get away from cigarettes, and when people start to go the old "let them suffer with constant voltage, it's 'good enough' ", or "I quit without it, so they should be able to do the same", or "the Twist (/Spinner/kGo VV) is too confusing", or "they don't need to know about volts and watts", and give me loads of crap for trying to help people understand a few basics, I sometimes feel the need to vent a little bit.
And this brings me to a long-standing pet peeve: attacking others outright, instead of just respectfully stating your views, and doing your best to dispassionately back them up with facts.
(Another pet peeve: online stalkers).

There was nothing wrong with your suggestion. It was a very good suggestion. It was your complete dismissal of every other suggestion made by anyone else (and not mine, because I made none, other than a sarcastic ProVari suggestion). It was you posting your suggestion every time anyone suggested anything else with a "I'll keep posting this link till I know the OP reads it". It was you posting your suggestion over and over and over ad naseum even after it was pretty obvious the OP wasn't even there anymore. It was you with the audacity to suggest you were trying to "save the OPs life" and insinuate no one else cared unless they agreed with you. Please.
I am trying to save the OP's life. And variable voltage affords the best chance to do that.

We tend to find what we're looking for.
But instead of using judgmental labels, how about just telling me what's on your mind, without such judgment? It's so much more effective IMO.
my biggest pet HATE is when i take out my e-cig and someone asks if there are drugs in it, i mean, are you serious??? um yeah sure I am smart enough to put drugs into an e-cig and make it work, but stupid enough to smoke it around you. And other people that see me vape and make numerous comments about how they wish they could quit.... welll you are looking at a non-smoker, ask and I will tell! Oh,and btw now that I am a non-smoker ashtrays and cigarette smoke are bothersome, I only comment on how bad someone smells if they have expressed that they want to quit.
