My health was in really bad shape. I was on the verge of a heart attack or a stroke. Stephaniems, a member here and one of the best friends I've ever had, told me about ecigs and kept onto me about them until I finally caved and started looking into them. It took me about two weeks to decide on the 901 and order one. I've never looked back. I owe it all to Steph. If she hadn't kept pushing me I honestly think I might be dead by now. Thanks Steph!

To E-cigs, one word: Livi. :) My beautiful baby girl. I'm not a young mother and I need to be around as long as possible to be there for the best thing that ever happened to me. I had already tried every NRT to quit before she came into my life and failed. I knew I had to try again, and make it work! I saw an ad for a "free trial offer" and started doing research on electronic cigarettes.

To ECF: Research! Everytime I googled a question about e-cigs, I got pointed to ECF. I have learned so much from everyone here and owe a lot of "thank yous" ! :)

I have been trying to quit for about 10 yrs. Cold turkey, patches, gum, hypnosis, and finally Dr. prescribed Chantix. That put me in such a depression that they almost hospitalized me and the doc said go back to smoking. Then the dreaded breath test. Diagnosis, early stage of COPD. I had seen my father die after living off an oxygen bottle with lung disease and heart disease. He and I are both retired military and led very active life styles. It tore me up to watch him waste away. No quality of life. Now here I was at the same doorstep. I was out of options. Then I found ECF and read till I was going cross eyed. Placed order after order for more and more devices and different juices. Lo and behold, success! Last cigarette was 4th of July 09. What a difference. This has really been a life saver for me. I hope others find out and try.

i was walking the mall with my daugter when we saw a demonstration on ecigs. She was sold before I was and kept bringing it up! This reminded me of when I was a kid and use to beg my mom and dad to quit. My brother sister and I used to hide their cigs lighters and ashtrays among many other things we thought would make them quit. My mom died from lung cancer. While my daughter was urging me to quit, I wondered how different things would have been if my parents quit. So I did this for my kids.

I was reading a local restaurant's website and a person asked them if they allowed e-cigarettes. The owner went into a tyrant about people that wear their pants below their butts and on and on, whatever that has to do with vaping I don't know. So I thought... well, if this is some new technology I want to know about it. Google led me here.

I had tried everything to quit and was very unhappy without cigarettes. My health isn't good and I basically had given up because I never thought I could survive without smoking. No one in my life smokes and I had to hide that I wasn't successful at quitting which basically turned me into a recluse. Last year I was in the hospital for 10 days and didn't tell the doctor that I smoked. The withdrawal symptoms made me think I was going crazy. I lost my voice for 3 months until I started smoking again.

vaping has given me a second chance on life. I've been able to share my story with those close to me and to feel the pain I was going through because I couldn't quit.

My best friend had quit smoking for a year and then started again. A few months ago he switched to e-cigs and explained alot to me and I got interested. Though I'm not a smoker, I have tried it before and it helped with my anxiety, but it wasn't worth the health problems. Once I learned of e-cigs I almost bought a Blu on the spot, but decided it was a bit of money and so I googled to do some research.

Thats how I ended up here and this site lead me to my beloved 901 :) With an XS-haler on the way.

I had known a few people who used E-Cigs and never really thought much about them honestly. My daughter (8 at the time) asked me one day why I smoked, and why I would want to kill myself. Then, asked why I did not quit.

These questions she asked were pure, and straight forward. I did not have a good logical answer since smoking was a choice I made, but not out of necessity. I had no argument, no answers, and no reasons really other than an addiction.

With what kids learn today about addictions I figured I needed to find a way out of this viscous cycle of trying to quit and failing. In came ECigs.

I found a NJoy at a local truck stop and bought one. Still had 4 analogs and never touched a one of them. I found my way out, and I took it. I quit smoking March 30th when I bought that NJoy and never looked back. I am now using a KR808D-1 with 901 attys to drip. I also use cartomizers.

I found ECF by Google searching for information on devices etc. I lurked here for a while learning what I could then registered so I could add to the conversations. Vaping is now like a hobby to me, but one that keeps me from smoking. There is a cost savings, but for now I am spending almost as much - but I do that by choice, I enjoy all the neat things I can get. I am, you see, a techie nerd by trade. This is right up my alley.

Fortunately, I have not been diagnosed with any irreversible smoking related illnesses (although, don't ask any tech who has xrayed my lungs). I just knew I needed to quit every time I climbed a set of stairs or wanted to play soccer with my kids. Why would anyone feel that way and keep smoking? I guess most of us can answer that question!

So, because I am an addict, I just kept smoking. Last Christmas I had planned a trip with the fam to visit my oldest in AZ. She hates smoking and won't allow it anywhere near her. I knew I would have to endure the 'looks' when I would sneak off for a cig so I bought the ecig off the radio. After seeing a charge for $9.95 (then $109.95 unapproved or so I thought), I freaked. They did explain and quickly refunded my money but by now I wanted an ecig to get me through the trip. Somehow I found MFS and Chris told me everything I needed to know to get started and off I went.

I stalked this site for a couple of months just taking it all in; then I made the plunge and participated. A couple of months and several hundreds of dollars later here I am! I recently decided to become a supporting member because the way I looked at it, with all the money I've saved with PIF and advice and coupons and freebies and contests . . . how could I not!

I still smoke an analog occasionally but I vape MUCH more. More and more people are asking me about it everyday and I am happy to share.

I quit smoking cold turkey on 1/1/09 for about 9 months. It was the most miserable 9 months of my life. I was incredibly depressed, almost suicidal. And that's not like me. I started to smoke ocassionally and that turned into more frequently.

Well I was selling some glass pieces to a local shop and they had the Smoke Stik brand of m4081 attys. The Mother of he owner (it's a family owned store) uses one and quit smoking with it, so I thought why not give it a try. Didn't spend a dime on it. Just traded some glass.

I'm naturally curious, so when I got home I hopped on the internet and first thing I did was search' e-cigarette forum' on yahoo! and here I am.

Someone gave me an NJOY and I loved it. But it was so expensive to keep buying there carts. So I started searching on the internet. Found ECF and learned from a few people here about other options. Still remember the person I went to with all my questions. Kate my favorite Nun. I do miss her.

I love Kate! I met her on Facebook. :) If you have an account there, friend her!

I feel bad that the reason we all met was because we were all sick and tired of being sick and tired but I am happy that we all found a way to feel better, get better and meet each other. I've made some amazing friends here and I hope they are around for a long time.

Thanks to everyone that has joined this group. You all are what makes it work!

And I miss Kate too!

A twisty winding path lead me here. I'd dreamt of something like an e-cig for so long in my smoking time. "Something that can give you nicotine and smoke without tar" So when the rumors started I was intrigued but put off by the few prices I found.

My health was a big priority. Also my teenage daughter was starting to find and throw away my cigarettes, just a few at a time. She HATED my smoking.

At my grandmothers funeral last year my dad had one (one of the expensive ones) and let me try it. I was overjoyed, I thought it looked "cool" and didn't mind the taste at all (even though it was one of the tobacco flavors). I started research. Found a few models that interested me, but was still put off by the price. I did a few google searches in Late December. I was originally going to buy a blu. After reading the forums I decided instead to purchase an inexpensive 510 kit AND a Kr808 from V4L. After receiving my kits I just quit cigarettes entirely.

Thank you all for sharing your stories. You all are amazing!

I went to my cardiologist today. My BP and heart rate were within normal ranges which is amazing in itself if you knew what they used to be and how much medication I was taking. He is sending me back to my pulmonologist to take a new PFT because he thinks my chronic lung condition caused by being in a semi-reclining position for over 5 years, is gone. I can't wait to find out!

My health is significantly better and I can only attribute it to ecigs. I have healed faster from this last surgery than I have any of the 13 before it. I have had less pain thus had to take far fewer of the strong pain meds. I was able to get off the morphine pump in record time, well for me it was record time, lol I am in a better mood now, my hair always smells great, my clothes do too. My teeth are getting whiter without using anything to make them white. I don't cough any more and I haven't wheezed in months. It is just awesome! Now if I could just get the hubby on board. My son, who had smoked for about 4 years is only vaping now too so that is a plus. I have my brother-in-law vaping too. He still smokes but it is a lot less. He's getting there. And one of the best benefits is meeting all of you!

Without ecigs none of the above would have happened and I wouldn't be part of this great group!
