I use an xtar VP4 and really like like it. I got a bum Nitecore but all of these chargers are mass-produced so a lemon is bound to happen. Some people really like them, a few don't. Whatever you choose, spend the money up front so you aren't repeatedly spending the money trying to stay in the game. It's worth it, honest.

I have nitecore i4 and d2. the i4 is four slots but charges slower with multiple batteries. the d2 has LCD and shows more information such as time charging, voltage and rate of charge. with the i4, you see some blinking lights at three levels-- lowest one blinking dot, then moves up a dot, then third dot blinks at near full. finally, full being a steady three lights on.

for all intent and purpose, the i2 or i4 will work just fine. I'd get the d2 if all you really need to see that your volts are 3.7 and you've been charging for 2 hours (good to know, but not essential). also, the batteries are monitored individually and charged separately but can be charged simultaneously.

okay anymore suggestion before i make a final purchase :O

You really can't got wrong with any of the main brands suggested for vaping batteries, Nitecore is on the lower scale, but it is a trickle charge only method with these, chargers slower and is gentle on batteries. Efest LUC (LUC Models only) have multimode charging, 2, 4, and now a 6bay available, middle of the road. Xtar by far for the price range is the best out there, and they come with a rock solid warranty, ranging from single bays up to 6 and 8 bays if you really search, on the pricey end compared to Nitecore and Efest LUCs, but there are more expensive brands out there RC enthusiasts and such use like Pila mentioned above. Best suggestion, look in the 35 to 45USD price range for an excellent 4bay will save you a lot of headache down the road.

Nitecore - i2 and i4 are older but still solid chargers, the D2 and D4 are upgrades with digital displays, if you can afford it go with the D4 - I own an i4 that is still running strong that pulls backup duty mostly now since I got my Efest LUC4 and Xtar VP4
Efest LUC - LUC2, LUC4, or the newer LUC6 - Own an LUC4 and happy with it for travelling purposes
Xtar - take your pick of any except the WP211 (Largest battery the 211 can handle is an 18500), can't really go wrong with any of their models - I own a VP4 that is my main home charger and it handles batteries very very well able to rescue very low charged batteries.

Not true. Any self-respecting li-ion charger use CC/CV charging algorithms - including Nitecores'.

CC/CV being Constant Current / Constant Voltage. Which you'll see in action if your charger displays current output. It feeds a constant current until battery nears full, then switches to a constant voltage (which you won't see) and starts to reduce the current (which you will see).

RC enthusiasts and such use like Pila

While RC enthusiasts have the same discussions about their favorite chargers, you won't see names like Pila, Nitecore and Efest. The chargers used by RC enthusiasts are different beasts entirely - like these:

Chargers - Chargers - ProgressiveRC

They're often referred to as "intelligent chargers". They use CC/CV algorithm for li-ions as well. That's about the only similarity between "our" chargers and what's used in RC communities.

As for the initial question; I currently use a Nitecore D4. No complaints. Added bonus is they charge my AA/AAA batteries as well. There's really not much to it. Any of the known brands either

A: Works just fine.
Or
B: Is a lemon. In which case return it for one from category A.
