RDA What did i just buy? RDA

The store had no packaging for it, they simply said it was a mutation and have no idea what version it is. So they let me have it for 15 bucks.
What did i really get? And did i get robbed?
No packaging, no drip tip and was their last one...
It has a M and underneith says 1916

Looks cool enough, a pic of the deck would definitely help. To me $15 isnt too bad a price for an unknown atty. My only concern would be in the quality of the important parts. I definitely recommend taking it all the way apart and giving it a good once over and cleaning before building on it. Otherwise...cool purchase.

No other marking underneath? Can I see the air flow holes as well? Mutation attys, as far as I'm aware, have the Mutation logo (the actual word with what looks like wings) on either side. Not sure if they maybe sold you a clone or something altogether different.

Most important thing is: does it work for you.

If its real its a pretty decent deal but it is an older atty. which is really meant for vertical coil builds.Yours looks like a clone to me but more/better pictures would help.

Damn, see they called it a mutant, they didnt know anything about it.
This atty has a solid feel to it, and its got weight. I have no clue how to build on it because of the base, but if uts for verticle builds im down, as i have not done those yet.

now that i know more about this atty, i agree. Ill clean it up soon find a drip tip (anyone reccomend a drip tip for this?) And throw a couple coils in and see what it can do. I own a mulcan (clone i think) and a dark horse mini, so ill welcome this to my collection.

For a flavor chaser I would go with a tight draw drip tip. Something with a flat mouthpiece or similar to the old aspire nautilus tips. If Im flavor chasing Im going MTL and I just cant do MTL on wide bore tips.

So some updates. I believe it is a clone.
I was going to build on this but i can not get the screw out of the post, and instead the post unscrewed out with the screw. I tried using plyers, but i dont wanna .... up the metal post.
Help? I have no rubber to grip with it.


P.s. i called up the store and asked if they had the box for this atty after finding out what it really was, so i stopped and got it.
Now they have another one out...and still calling it a mutation.

The more you talk about your interactions with the B&M, the shadier they sound. Mutation clones are made by Tobeco, but that's not what this is. I wouldn't be too worried about the post coming out, it happens from time to time, especially with the lower quality stuff made overseas.

Regardless of what it is, you got lucky and only spent $15 with these guys. Tell the B&M to fix your screw issue or give you a refund/credit. I wouldn't personally deal with them on more expensive stuff moving forward based on that though.

I bought my first dripper at a B&M and it was a CLT2 clone for about the same price ($20CAD or about $15USD) and the guy I was dealing with told me it was definitely a clone and about $10 from China. He said only buy it from him if I can't wait a month from China. I gladly paid the extra few bucks as I was anxious to try dripping. I was totally fine with it.
