what do amps do?

I could be totally mistaken, but I thought amps had more to do with what kind of charger to use with it or something like that. So like even if your e-cig fits on the charger you could kill it if you try to charge it using too many amps or something (like the little 510 batt fits on the eGo charger, but don't do it or it'll kill the batt with amp overload).

Am I right?

Amps is the current generated by the volts of your battery/ the ohms of your atomizer (volts/ohms). When the amps get too high it will burn out your atomizer, so your device is regulated not to go above 2amps to prevent it.
