I'll give you the impressions of a non-owner. Puresmoker's Icon and Prodigy are beautiful stainless devices at a price that is compelling.

1. The Icon is a 14500 device. This makes for a nice, small form factor that fits the hand nicely. I have a Rounded Copper, and it's a great size for driving or out in public.

2. 14500 batteries generally last about half the day under heavy use, so if you keep a couple charged you're good to go for all day vaping.

3. Icon and Prodigy owners love their devices, which is the best endorsement anyone could give.

4. No 6v option with the Icon. Not a deal breaker, but it does make it a less flexible device.

5. 14500s may be prone to overstress if you use a LR atty. I had a new 14500 fail after two weeks. Could have just been a bad battery, but I had been vaping LR all day that day.

6. I am not a huge fan of the end button. It looks like a nice, solid button, but I have reservations about how natural it feels to use. The Copper is not exactly natural with its plunger setup, but you get used to it. That said, I much prefer the standard button layout of my Bombshell. Because of this I have kind of ruled out the Prodigy and Precise and am leaning toward getting a Shockwave or Helix when they are finally shipping.

It is a beautiful PV. Let us know how you like it if you end up springing for it.

Hey last tango , I don't own an icon but I have one like it and I would say the best thing about it is that it's all mechanical no electronics to break down or buttons that will break . I have a gg super slim and it's been a real work horse , when other mods have had button issues or something else I can always know that the gg will work because of the way it makes contact with the battery and I'm sure the icon is the same . I just got my Provari and it's a top of the line mod probably the best built I've seen but it has a lot of electronics and that could spell trouble in the future so I kinda think having an all mechanical PV is a must for all serious vapers and that's a real positive of the icon . Good luck

I can't speak for the Icon but I have had my Prodigy v3.1 (just a size difference really, right?) for just over a week now. Other than a machining defect on the battery tube, I'm fairly happy with it. There is an extra groove that goes half way around the battery tube just below the atty connector, it doesn't affect performance but it's very noticable. Other than that, I like it fine.

The mechanical bottom button works good and hasn't misfired. It's a very simple design. There is some play in the button so if you shake it around it can rattle a bit.

I dont' know if it's because it's stainless or what but, it seems to run a bit warmer than my Silver Bullet at 6v. The button section screws into the battery tube like butter but the top cap can be a bit touchy to get started.

Disclaimer: I bought the Prodigy on a whim. I didn't want it, I only wanted to try out a bottom button mod and didn't want to wait for a Precise (or spend that kind of money only to find out I don't like bottom buttons). I am pretty happy with this mod but I may not keep it very long as it's not what I really wanted.

Got mine in August-- I was sold on the price, size & all mechanical vented locking bottom button switch... @ 1st I thought the switch would be a little weird, but that didn't last a day-- felt natural real quick. Haven't had any REAL negative issues-- nothing I couldn't fix myself anyways (insulated the spring). It does have a heft to it-- but its what can be expected from SS construction.
On the job or out-n-about it handles all occasions, w/ the locking button it fits in the pocket or a flashlight holster readily w/no misfires... PLUS with the button locked down it makes for a convenient bottle cap opener too!
Its a very easy/simple to clean up the switch-- not that you'd have to do it very often... I do mine every 6 weeks or so.

I say get 1 if ya got the $ to do so-- if you don't like, the resell on the iCON is excellent.
