What do you want to vape?

It just occured to me when reading this thread that I'd never even tried any of the tobacco flavors - and I've been vaping since August! I went straight for the grape flavor in an empty cart and never looked back. So I just now tried one of the tobacco flavored cartridges that came with my 510. Yikes! Back to "boiling fruit" for me. I love the fruit flavors ... and the caramels ... and the cheesecake ... Guess maybe I'm a 54 year old kid.

Ha! Me too!! I smoked menthols for 37 years and never thought about getting a tobacco flavored product. Never even tried the freebie tobacco carts that came with the kit. Been vaping for over 4 months and am quite content with a menthol/strawberry mix. I'm thinking that staying away from a tobacco flavor has led to my success in abandoning analogs, because they taste sooooo bad to me now. Blechhhh. I'll stick with the fruit and menthol too! Guess I'm a 52 year old kid. :)

I think it's great that so many people have switched to the candy/fruit flavors. It underscores my point that newcommers looking to duplicate the experience of a cigarette should take the different perspectives into account before choosing their first ecig. IMHO, the heavy moist vapor produced by a lot of ecigs may be great for candy/fruit flavors. But not for duplicating a cigarette. Maybe I have saved one or two people some money, which was my objective with this thread.

    Somewhere between here and there
The only liquid that I use every day is 555 menthol. I have about 8-12 others that I rotate in and out on different days. I am starting to take a liking to ry4 and regular tobacco flavor. I would really like to get it down to where I am only using 3-4 flavors. I get tired of switching bottles that I carry each day but right now I have yet to be able to narrow my taste down to those few.

The only real problem is, you won't know what your preference is until after you start. When I started, I bought tobacco flavors, and a bottle of cappucino just for the heck of it. After I tried the cappucino, I found that I preferred it over the tobacco. That drove me to try some other non-tobacco flavors, which I love.

Not saying I don't like some tobacco flavors, but it's not what I would choose first if I knew then what I know now.

This indicates just how different the perspectives really are. I would not have tried non-tobacco flavors if I knew what I knew now :)

Well, people should probably try both a pen-style and a mini anyway. I tried the 801. I think the vapor was sufficiently thick. Perhaps the mini could deliver the dryest vapor possible. I'm not sure which side my 510/megabatt falls. In fact, with its size, it looks like a PEN :)

I thought the M401 had relatively thin vapor. Maybe an M401? The manual batt is now available that I assume would deliver better throat hit than the auto-batt. BTW, I hope to get a Chuck soon, myself.

You might want to back up to a few of my posts about Kent, camel/tobacco/ry4 and cuban cigar.

True Love = My Chuck + my magic atomizer. OMG the vapor! It's insane. I love it. Just a freaky little mutant atty on steroids that kicks out so much vapor I look like a fire breathing dragon.

I hope I find other attys like that one. I'm going to weep like a little girl when it dies. Then I'll hold a small ceremony for it.

I thought you might say something like that :)

And I thought of another idea. Perhaps someone starting with a tobacco flavor shouldn't judge the experience by the initial vapes after a fill. Just use an ecig capable of great vapor, wait for the vapor to dry out a bit, then judge the tobacco-flavor experience. Only one ecig required.

Actually, I find that the Dekang Marlboro flavor I have tastes better right after I fill it, and then use it on my Chuck. It doesn't taste quite as good when I use it on my regular 510 battery.

Of course, now that I dropped my nic level to 9mg, that 24mg Marlboro stuff makes my lips tingle, and my head feel woozy.

Yeah, that's the problem with tobacco flavors that I found out. Same reaction to TW menthol when I first started vaping with an 801. And I just got reminded when I tried my Kent in an Npro right after a fill. One of these days I'll give TW menthol another try, now I know that dryer vapor is more appropriate for the "nasty" tobacco flavors.

Maybe I WAS lucky that I only smoked menthols. As a newbie, I automatically bought menthol juice, without considering tobacco flavored juice. What did I know? Once that PURE menthol juice hit me, there was no looking back. THIS was a taste that I loved more than menthol cigs. The fruit juices satisfy my sweet tooth, so it's a double bonus!

WDave - I'm gonna order some RY4 later on, I might try mixing a bit with that USMix/Marlboro, see if I can take the edge off it a bit (I did try mixing it with a bit of menthol, but I'm not really a menthol fan anyway, so it didn't work out too well).

I suppose another factor is as that my tastebud sensitivity returns, I may find flavours I like now, I'm not too keen on in the future...bit of an adventure this vaping isn't it. :).

Hope your not disappointed with the RY4. Turns out I could not resist vaping it on its own. I even ordered an RN4081 to enjoy the full flavor, which I wasn't getting with my 510.

at first I was all about the fruity flavors. I felt like I was rebelling against the cig companies!! but then I started to miss the old flavors, as the fruity would get on my nerves after a little while. But now i drip my ciggy flavors on my atty and top off the carts with the fruity flavors and i find it to be quite pleasant. just a hint of fruity with a strong cigarette taste. yumm. (btw, i was never the type for the flavored cigs) my husband even thought it sounded gross until I made him try it. ...this is also good if you got flavors that you don't particularly enjoy, you can still use it without that strong taste :) :)

Thanks for the idea, I was all about fruit, fruit, fruit, no tobacco! I can't afford to buy any more right now, but I dripped one of my nut flavors, (Black Walnut) onto to my atty, then added some apple to my cart, excellent. .I .pretty well exhauted all the fruit flavors and wanted something different, to get rid of the sweet flavor. .(I like these fruit flavors, just sometimes during the day, I like something different that's not so sweet all the time)

I tried a few times to mix nuts/ with fruits, they taste heavenly when I add them separately to my cart, but I can't seem to make one mixed taste as good. .But your idea of dripping one flavor onto the atty and the fruit into the cart works wonderfully. .Thankyou!

At first I tried to replicate my Marlborough Lights. Just for fun, I included a peach flavor in my order.

The tobacco flavor wasn't quite what I'd hoped, but I found that I really liked the peach flavor and realized I was no longer limited to what cigarettes had to offer. (I'd tried flavored tobacco and enjoyed it, but it was more expensive and harder to find.)

A sweet fruit is not really good for an all day vape for me, so I tried French Vanilla Coffee from Nhaler and found my sweet spot. Coffee is a more savory flavor, like tobacco vs. sweet like fruits. I'm waiting for Drew to make cafe mocha in High voltage and I'll be all over that, as well. I still have days where I'll vape the peach for a few hours, too. I'm also thinking of trying a cola.

I have absolutely no interest in tobacco flavors any longer.

My husband, meanwhile, is still working on his ultimate menthol. Yesterday, I mixed up some 18mg menthol with 2 BIG menthol crystals and about 30% of a flavorless 60mg liquid in a 20ml bottle. It smelled like Vicks vapor rub to me, but he liked it! He said it was like sucking on a Halls drop, but he likes those. However, it still didn't do the trick for him when he was drinking at a party last night. I think he needs a higher nicotine or more tobacco flavor in the menthol or something. We got his daytime vape down, now we need to work on the drinking vape! Ironically, he knows he'd never want to have a menthol cigarette that strong of a menthol flavor.

It is so different for everyone. Why you smoked and what your pleasure triggers were play a big part in what you look for in flavors & strengths.

That's why I suggest people try at least one other flavor that sounds interesting. You may be surprised at what "trips your trigger!"

Kristen-You are a good wife. All men should be so lucky!!!:) Mine is, just ask him but, ask him while I am in the room.

I've only been vaping a little less than three weeks, I have tried a ton of stuff, I have easily enough juice to last me AT LEAST 6 months, and I even sold a few 10 ml bottles off to a friend who I got started on it. I still don't know what I want. The only category I think I haven't tried is tobacco because although I like a fine cigar here and there I never really liked the taste of cigarettes, they more or less became neutral.

However I'm having a really hard time finding something else. I've probably vaped more Coca Cola flavored than anything.
