normally all packages via airmail and EMS to the USA will be delivered via USPS when they pass through your customs.

I think, they need be signed for. :)

My USPS contacts all tell me that registered/signature required mail that is international no longer requires them to acquire signature for delivery. I didn't have to sign for my EMS from China last week, even though the .......s lied on the tracking and said I did (on EMS site). I haven't signed for a foreign package in a year or two.

I'm sure people paying to ship for signature in the states are thrilled to know this. :(

I can top that, I just had an order from Eatmall and someone else signed for it, the order was for almost $400 and I never recieved it. The USPS is saying they delivered it because it was signed for, ya someone else signed for it and that someone doesnt even live in my development, I found out this someone works a mile away in an industrial park, yet the USPS will do nothing and I am now out almost $400 bucks. ???

The gated condo community I live in will not sign for anyones packages, my package wasnt even forged, someone elses name is signed on the dotted line, even the post office sees this, yet they will not take the blame, I did my own investigation and found this person that signed for it works a mile away in a local industrial park, my post office still hasnt admited guilt, and also tried to shove it under the carpet, I now went to the South Florida post masters office and they are investigating this situation, since I told them who signed for it where she works and cant believe she even signed for it, this is a punishable felony 10yrs and 10k fine to mess with the USPS, however all I know is I am out the $400 as of now and probably will end like this, I'm keeping my fingers crossed though, and the supplier whom I have been doing business with for a year now exclussively almost wont do a dam thing for me about it either, I even payed through PayPal and there final investigation finds that since it was signed for and delivered that they wont protect me at all, my last and final resort will be my credit card protection, which I'm hoping to use as my card in my back pocket in the end if knowbody does anything here, they will charge back paypal or the supplier I have found out so they might be counting there chickens after they've hatched and have one taken back here I hope.! but I'm not sure about this either

I thought that all packages via EMS must be signed for by the consignee.

I know, it is disturbing right? But that is my experience here. Apparently it is not handled this way consistently, according to mwa102464.

What I did with this recent package, that according to EMS/USPS was signed for by me, which it was not, is order the signature online. It was signed and the name printed of the office worker that signed for it at my apartment complex' office, and below that my name was printed. Apparently that is enough for them here.
