I am pretty new to vaping. In the past I tried vapor4life and the batteries didn't last very long and I was constantly dripping.. I smoke about a pack of cigs a day and really want to convert to a nice ecig with lots of vape good taste and long lasting. I'd prefer something I can use in public. I was tempted to buy v2 cigs but I think I want something a little more advanced.

Any suggestions on what exactly I should buy? Would really help me out a lot. I've been lurking for awhile and I just cannot make up my mind.

I was also looking at the ego the but wasn't sure what all I needed with it.

Seems so confusing right now.

Hi Travis
Actually you can use any ecig/PV in public. That's up to you.
I use a Kgo. It is the size of a sharpie or medium sized cigar. It has a stronger battery than the cigalike sizes. It gives me a stronger vape & keeps me off the ciggies. Also I can use that battery all day without needing to be recharged.

Hi and welcome! Probably the most important thing is whether you want a device that looks like a tobacco cigarette or you don't care. You're going to get tons of recommendations (primarily for a variable voltage battery and clearos or vivi novas), but some people really do want a "cig-a-like" and there are good ones out there. The next thing is your budget. A starter kit is the best way to go. You should get 2 batteries (you use one while the other chargers), a charger and some kind of delivery system - most kits come with that. And unless you choose pre-filled cartridges, you will need e-liquid. Some kits come with that too. If you think about what you want and narrow it does a bit, people can give you more specific recommendations. Cheers!

Bigger mods?

Do people use the ego-the in public?

Bigger mods = bigger batteries. And yes, people use eGos in public. It takes a awhile to get used to people staring at you and often having to explain what you're doing. Even though one can supposed vape "anywhere," personally I don't. 1) Because I don't want to talk about it (or get dirty looks from folks who think I'm smoking); and 2) Seeing the vapor can elicit a craving in tobacco smokers (remember reaching for a cig when someone lit up on TV?), so I try to be sensitive.

Where can I get a volt starter pack

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Image Electronic Cigarettes - The Future is in your hands

Since you allowed yourself a generous budget, I recommend a kit with the mini cigarettes (at least two batteries) and charger minimum. Also get a Volt X2 battery passthru. This is the same size battery as the eGo's that others have recommended. Depending upon the length X2 battery you choose, they allow 7-13 hours of use between charges, and the passthru charger even allows you to vape while the battery is charging. Also getting the 1.5 volt USB/AC wall unit will allow you to charge your batteries when away from a computer.

Pic 1 - size comparison of a cigarette and the 2 mini Volt batteries, and 3 sizes of X2 passthru batteries (without juice delivery devices on them).

Pic 2 - the three sizes of X2 batteries. 650 mah = 6.5 hours, 900 mah = 9 hours, 1300 mah = 13 hours battery use.

Pic 3 - X2 batteries with ce3's.

Pic 4 - X2 battery with a clearomizer.

Bigger mods?
I use the following mods out in public. I'm not shy about vaping in public, but I am respectful of antismoking laws/ordinances. However, I do stealth vape at work.

Family2.jpgGripper-vv-.jpg

Provape's Provari, Altsmoke's Silver Bullet and BB, and Smoktech's variable voltage Gripper

The above mods use replaceable rechargeable batteries that last 7-20 hours and can carry cartomizer tanks with juice capacities of up to 7 ml of liquid.

I only need bring one device with me (with perhaps an extra battery or a change of e-juice flavor in an extra cartotank). Much easier in my opinion than carrying around multiple devices like the mini or X2/eGo batteries because of their shorter battery times.

Well since you're going to get suggestions from everyone (good to check them all out) here's mine.:2c: For a pass-thru, I like the Joyetech
ego 'c' upgrade. You can use it as a pass-thru & then cap it & take it with you; it also has 2 diff. settings so you can either stay at the lower OR up it...nice unit.

I also like the Vision 'spinner' where you can adjust how high or low or inbetween. Very nice unit & the 1300 batt lasts .

As far as 'going out' with them - they've been everywhere with me - no problem ever & if anything, I've been asked what it is & where they can get it. Whatever you choose, you are on the right track & the best of luck to you.:toast:
