What exactly does a 36mg juice have....

Hi, Seeing I'm new to this I do need clarifying something which is not outwardly apparent.

My question is this. When any distributor say that their e-juice is 36mg strength exactly what does this mean?

Does it mean 36mg/ml? Or does it mean the 15ml bottle has 36mg?

And cartriges. When they say that the cartrige is 18mg with .1ml of juice does this mean 18mg/ml and 1.8 mg in the .1ml?

Or, does it vary from one distributor to another seeing there is no standard so you have to ask each one what is exactly inside?

Officially, per a manufacturer who has posted on forum, strength is measured in milligrams of nicotine per gram of liquid. That's no big complication because most liquids will weigh roughly one gram per one milliliter.
