What exactly is 555?

I have the 555 Menthol and the Nuport from Nhale.

What exactly does "555" mean? I see much talk about it, but couldn't find an answer in my searches.

And why is it called "555"?

It's a British brand of cigarettes. State Express 555

I have tried dozens of 555-juices and none tastes like a State Express ("555") cigarette....
