As some of you know, I was hit with the ice storm. I had no power for 10 days. My husband and I managed to vape our way through the whole thing. Here's what I learned.

Those APC battery packs (or whichever one you're using) are awesome, even if two of you need to use it. A power inverter where you can plug it in, in your car, will charge it up faster than trying to do it via USB in the car. If you have a way to charge a laptop (a power inverter can work for that in the car too, if you get one that is powerful enough) can be put on "sleep" mode and you can vape away for like 36 hours if it has a decent battery. :D

Eventually, we bought a generator so recharging became much easier. That first day though, we had to get by and then day 2, I had to boil a bunch of water and take it out and get the thick layer of ice off my Jeep so I could start recharging things in there. Sat in there for a while with the heater running and vaped on one outlet while things charged on the other two! LOL!

I can't believe we were able to make it through all of that without grabbing a pack of smokes! The stress, the misery was enough to make me crave them, but we managed just fine. So, outfit yourself with good battery packs and keep your stuff charged and get a power inverter. You just never know!

GabbyD How much do I know about the ice storm ALOT! Here in KY it was awful. No power for a week and work work work for me. I work at a water treatment plant and had to work 11 days straight. So much stress and stupid me had not charge my powerpack. I could have charged at work but,too much to do and I didnt.I didn't know about the car deal. Anyway now I am fighting analogs again. I just got to the point were I wanted e -cigs more and than this happen. I now really appreciate having electrical power! We lost alot of our food and no baths. This was one bad experience.

Oh I know! We packed ice in our deep freezer until we got the generator. But we lost just about everything in the fridge and the little freezer. At first we were hanging on and trying to get by but then the electric company said it could be weeks for some of us who live rural. That did it for me! We bought the first generator that came into town after that! LOL! Even with that, no hot water. We have a well, and we could hook it up to the generator and get some water flowing in the house for a little while, then unplug that and have lights and TV. I got one hot shower during the whole thing, at a relative's house. NOT fun!

I'm glad you have power back now too. It's so hard to go that long. I was looney yesterday morning, so it came back just in the nick of time to save me from the mental ward. LOL!

Gabby glad you got power I know it was wonderful. Where would I get a power pack for a penstyle. I seen people writing about them but I did not understand what they were buying.

Taz--I bought this power pack a month ago and it is the best investment I made--you can vape for three days heavy without a recharge--and I recharge only takes 6 hours at most. It also came with an car charger--Well worth it--Sun:) See Pod iPhone 1G 3G Cell Phone USB Battery Travel Charger - eBay (item 260347061502 end time Feb-13-09 13:53:34 PST)
