assumes two things:
1. That they know concoction they are selling is actually deadly.
2. That the goal of repeat sales trumps quick profit in every single case. In practice it’s probably quite variable. There are whole industries such as used car sales where it is largely ignored. I suspect in this case it’s perhaps situational. Is this customer someone you will even be able to find again to make a repeat sale to? is one point where such a drive breaks down. How bad do you need the money? is another. Do you even like the guy and want to do business with them again? is a third.

So sorry you had a bad experience with a Used Car dealer ..

You don't understand the Drug Trade .. it is built on repeat customers .. and, whether you like those customers or not, does not factor so long as they keep buying .. and, you don't find them, they find you ..

Believe me, the users of this extraordinarily high level of THC vape, knew exactly what they were getting from the first toke .. the closest comparison would be going from coke to crack ..

That WAS the case, now nearly every day there is a new story about someone dead from using something that was laced with fentanyl. This really is fastly becoming an epidemic that "they" really need to do something about. Who really thinks lacing something with elephant tranquilizer is a "good or safe idea"?

My perspective on the THC Vape health issues (cannabis lab director) : electronic_cigarette

Perhaps all future discussions on THC should be directed to the Cannabis subforum. ECF members have been complaining of this topic appearing in the general forums.
Fair enough. The only reason it happens at all is because it’s being conflated by the CDC with e-cigarettes.
I personally consider them seperate. They’re separately regulated, separately packaged, and separately sold. I sort of miss the time when there wasn’t such a forum section at all.

I think it's a done deal. THC vape crisis is just icing on the take-over cake.
Cigs will go bye-bye soon. "Smokeless future".
BT will own the market. And probably the THC market too.

Planned long ago, executing now.
"This war was over before it began".

Sucks.
See other threads where I detailed my :2c:

Maybe in a country where they have a real market and not an oligarchy controlled congress, it won't be as bad. Maybe.
BT is still selling normal vape (flavored) in the UK. So maybe them. Us? It's over.

Rules of economics and evidence in other nations say it would be worse. The problem is competition is by its very nature self destructive to itself. To make it work long term it has to be artificially maintained. If not A monopoly will eventually arise.

I actually agree. In fact, we should all help the mods by suggesting this when people post something about cannabis (THC and/or CBD) The mods must be overloaded. I was hoping the software filter would control this (only allow certain words on the cannabis forum) but if that can't be done, it very well could create a mess overall.

i was reading Another seemingly misleading article and something occurred to me tertiarily.

This dead kids thing isn’t just the biggest e-cigarette problem of the moment, it’s ALSO the biggest legalized cannabis problem of the moment as well. People are dying because they’re buying fake drugs they think are from legal sources.

What if this whole thing is an attempt to shift blame FROM legal cannabis TO e-cigarettes? Are all of the fast moving politicians from states that recently legalized? BT would have a big thing to gain because they kill two birds. They’re heavily heavily invested in legalized cannibis AND they hate ecigs.

Just a thought. Might be worthless. Thought I’d throw it out there though. Maul away. I’m interested to see what’s wrong with it.

Both my husband and i think this is the case, and its obvious. If they say it's clear that legalizing marijuana wasn't as good an idea as originally thought, then they are out that very large tax revenue stream..

Vaping makes the perfect scapegoat because it doesn't hold the same future promise of revenue that tobacco and marijuana do, and it's not gone through the regulatory process yet..

Later on, they will just sweep all the marijuana related illnesses and deaths under the proverbial rug, the same way no one blinks an eye over a legal product like tobacco causing half a million deaths a year..

To those whining about the THC / etc mentions :: ECF auto censored any and all of those type references for a long, long time .. now that the issue has come to the forefront via the Lung Disease Hot News of the Day, the grip has been loosened .. and, rightfully so, IMO ..

It dovetails completely with the Current Hot Topic, and, unless you've not heard, the Green Wave is "rolling" ..

Thank you, Oliver ..

I suggested this as well yesterday. Wouldn’t surprise me if Big T and politicians are behind it.

Missed it. Where?

I’m a different thread. I was having a conspiracy moment. Which I still am. The timing. Only in the us. Deeming being pushed. Illicit THC e oil. Where’s and who is distributing that? Big T buying JUUl. Billions lost by bug t and Big P as well as “donations” to politicians....0nly in this country is the government owned by Tobacco and Pharm.
Too many coincidences too mention.

These carts are complete fake homemade garbage aimed at younger weed vapers in illegal states primarily. The packaging and empty carts can be bought from eBay, Banggood, etc. for a couple of dollars.

The issue is that the contents of a real THC cart is very thick. So if you take 90%+THC (which is visibly thick in these heap disposable 1/2g or 1g carts) and cut it, it thins out and buyers know.

Add some of this wonderful thickening agent (vitamin E acetate) and your watered down THC cart looks as potent as buyers expect and the dealer makes lots of $$$ selling watered down crap.

Unfortunately this thickening agent is what is killing people. Nothing to do with CBD, legal tested dispensary carts or more importantly, our vaping of NIC.

Completely ridiculous, but I guess striking while the THC iron is hot is a good way to speed up the nicotine deeming regs as “vaping is vaping” according to your US Govt. Absolute shame what is happening in NY State and what is about to happen in MI, Cali and god knows how many other states.

I never realized how powerful big tobacco really was.

"Big Oil" runs most of the world. BT and BP aren't slouches either.

But I think it's more than that. Move "up" at least one more level from there.

So we have social engineering, and big money/people/jobs involved. Longer term thinking is in there somewhere, but short term-profits count too. And B? is of course entrenched and always has been.

Look at how (and I've mentioned this in the deeming thread) BT has made cigs WORSE for decades now. And look at how JUUL and BT have been actually complicit in the vilification of these products that are too successful while having negative social costs.

So somehow, some way, in back rooms or big-government-strategy-groups (internal social engineering)...they come to deals.

Vaping our way is probably too successful. Ironically. And nic is still detrimental, despite what many of us wish to be true, since it will contribute to heart/artery problems, etc.

So just like cigs (which are doomed long term in the 'smoke free future'), vaping will be "fixed" to be less successful but still available. And we'll be left with tobacco flavors, PITA systems that need cleaning and/or are so closed as to not be easily refillable, etc. Enough for current users to get their "fix" but not too easy nor too tasty nor too fun.

And all that money (and those tobacco jobs) will be protected along the way, with complicit companies playing the middle ground while taking over the market. They're experts at this.

But it makes more sense when you consider that the hype we're seeing doesn't make sense. So you realize that my Governor, and the others, are hiding that end-game. They can't come out and say all this! They have to "save the children from flavors" and "panic over 7 deaths from street carts" while seemingly ignoring 500,000 tobacco related deaths. But they're NOT ignoring them. The cards up their sleeves, all have "eliminate smoking" written on them, "for the good of the country". They're not showing those cards. That's all.

It's done. It's over before it began. If you want to hold on to traditional vaping, stock up. Because they need BT's cooperation, to eliminate the cancer-sticks. (And I hope those new products work well, with minimal chemicals. I still don't trust BT).

In general you’re probably right. In general is not everything though. The drug trade has many sections and many subsets. There are honest used car dealers for example. The number of people who are dead, or even sick, is not high. As the saying goes there’s always a few idiots who ruin it for everyone.
Believe me, the users of this extraordinarily high level of THC vape, knew exactly what they were getting from the first toke .. the closest comparison would be going from coke to crack ..
So they all said to themselves “I think I’ll kill myself today! Why don’t I try to OD?” Not that it doesn’t ever happen of course. Occam’s razor picks stupidity over intent though.
