I am trying to quit chew. I have been a heaver chewer for a couple of years. ecigs seem like a safer alternative (I am tired of yellow teeth). Does anyone have any advice for ecigs for a tobacco chewer?
I would also really appreciate hearing from tobacco chewers who switched to ecigs and how it worked or didn't work for them.

E-cigs really are designed with the smoker in mind, so although it's possible that you might enjoy vaping as much as any smoker I suspect you'd be better off looking into low-nitrosamine Swedish-style Snus and/or dissolvable tobacco products. Stonewall dissolvables are specifically designed to have the higher nicotine content that most "chewers" prefer. Check here: Smokeless tobacco

I had some Swedish friends that switched to some kind of tobacco-less snuff. I think it had peppers as an ingredient.

Hello Tregs

My name is Robert and I am posting under my wife's name. I love the fact that my wife has used e cigs to quit smoking after 16 years. As for me I was a chewer for more than 20 years. I first got interested in e cigs as an alternative to chewing and my wife ended up using them to quit smoking. I took a different path and found quitsmokeless.org. It is a free support and information site for people who want to quit using smokeless tobacco. As of today I have not used nicotine for 47 days. I quit cold turkey with the help of the site and my support group. The first three days are hard and after that it is just a head game. I wish I would have quit years ago. I hope you will check out the site and consider giving up all forms of nicotine. If not then good luck with the e cigs. You can find me in the September quit group at quitsmokeless.org under the user name Robert MW.

Good luck on your journey to free yourself from Tobacco
Robert

For the admins: I hope it was OK to post under my wife's name. Just trying to pass along some good information, not trying to break any rules.

thank you that is very informative and that looks like a helpful site, but I don't know if I can get off nicotine all together right now. and this seems like a nice alternative to tobacco.

What do you chew? I think that if you can find the proper flavor that would match your chew you might find it easier. I know that some chew is much sweeter than others.
Redman Original for the most part (mostly because it is one of the few chews that can be found anywhere). Sometimes Lancaster chew when I can find it.
