I mean, is it supposed to taste like something in the real world?

If not, hey, I'm ok with abstract flavors. I just got 30 ml of 30mg 100%VG Ginger's RY4 from The Vapor Room. I DDd it and like it so much I loaded up a new carto tank with it.

Sweet, smokey, nutty... kind of dark, yet light and clean... Kind of like shaved almonds left out in a Chinese laundry overnight.

From the good RY4's iv tried its always like a toasted caramel tobacco sometimes with a hint of cotton candy . Iv tried some though that were like a nutty lime kinda taste that was pretty bad .Iv always hated RY4 until i tried greenhouseone's version which is amazingly yummy and lots of caramel/cotton candy taste .

Thanks Kent, but i get a "not allowed" on the first link. I take it that it is supposed to taste like tobacco. If I REALLY apply my imagination, maybe... but then again, I have such a good imagination, that I can make it taste like truffles and spray-starch.

Sorry.. that was bad link.... I removed it. RY4 and Ruyan #4 flavors have long been a subject of 'what does it taste like' and at first there were only two main flavors out - one from the Janty/joye line and the dekang version. Then vendors started making their own flavoring.

It has been considered a 'tobacco' flavor but not many versions have a tobacco taste, imo. Smoky/Butterscotch/carmel/cream is real close to what I get and the various versions show some smoky dominance while others focus on the sweeter notes. The original Janty RY4 was more smokey and piney, than sweet although there was that note to it. Was my #1 vape for a year and one thing about RY4 is that it seems to hold up under a variety of wattages and it can taste different hotter than the cooler vape but it still retains some flavor either way - many flavors either burn out at higher wattages and some are tasteless at lower wattages - not RY4..... I always thought there was some ginger in there. Some taste raspberries - not me :) and the Ruyan #4 vapor does smell like cotton candy but I don't think it tasted like that vaping it.

Some don't like it at all at first and some learn to like it. My friend said 'musty basement' when he first tried it and now it's his #1 vape  And I can see that - there is that smokey thing that can taste 'musty' to some. Flavors are subjective and in some cases there's genetic factor on bitter....

That's right. I remember a biology teacher trick where he passed out strips flavored with a harmless bitter acid and asked everybody to write down what it tasted like. Then he was able to predict the answers by our ability to "curl" our tongues. Apparently, the better you can curl your tongue, the less able you are to taste bitter flavors.

From the four different ry4's iv tried none tasted even remotely alike .With the ones iv tried i did not taste any sort of rasberry or chocolate . I do recommend trying greenhouseones ry4 . Its something i think everyone will enjoy if you are into ry4. I know taste is subjective but i can just kinda see everyone liking it . Whats awesome about theirs is the price too. Under 14.00 for a 60ml bottle .So far its the only juice iv ordered 120ml of at one time . AFter looking through the entire ry4 roundup thread somehow it was not mentioned once . To better explain it ,its like a really light creamy toasted caramel . Caramel is definitely the dominant taste but its not like a regular caramel juice or like caramel candy. Its about the total opposite of ave caramel kicker . Its very mellow but sweet still and the cotton candy is a background taste not just smell . The mix of those to flavors together wouldnt really sound appealing but they compliment each other perfectly . The tobacco part of it is not so much of a taste but more a feel ,if that makes sense . It actually very close in taste to Kalamazoo Vapor Shops mad hatter juice but with more caramel .Btw the worst ry4 iv tried is nhalers . It is just horrid

iv never understood why some people call it ry4 if its not even close to any others either. I just think of it as the universal mystery juice that every vendor sells their version of lol .

Snakefarm are you sure you didnt just vape morphine or something by mistake . lol .Pick up the wrong syringe ?lol jk 30mg does make me relaxed as well as feel sleepy .

Holy crap i just realized i passed 300 posts . Im on this forum entirely too much lol

Two years ago the juices available were primarily tobacco imitation flavors. RY4 was a stand out non-tobacco flavor. There is now a much larger and better selection of non-tobacco flavors, so RY4 is no longer the stand out that it used to be.

HTH,
Dave

I thought perhaps it was something like that. Reminds me of the woman who cuts the ends off the roast who, when asked why she does it, calls her mom only to find out that a normal sized roast wouldn't fit in the old family pot with the ends on.

I am most definitely an RY4 Woman! For a few months, I was buying every brand of RY4 that I read about on ECF ... but I always came back to Quick-Nic's. LOVE it still ... although I never DID buy any from Greenhouse/greensmokes/whatever on pg 1 of this thread ... and now that I THINK about it ... maybe I'll try me some ............
