What is the best e-cig for a newbie ?

I am looking for something that is not too big in size. More like the size of an analog smoke. I want good vapor, the atomizer to last a decent time and the battery to last a decent time too. I have heard that some models the batteries dont last, or the atomizers burn out quick. I personally am leaning towards the 510, maybe the 801 or 901 but not sure. Im sure everyone has their opinion but if I could do a poll and see what everyone is using I would, but I cant do a poll for some reason in this forum. So lets hear it people, what are you using ? Please.

What e-cig is good to start with is speculative. Each person is different, so what might work for one person wont work for another.
The top models that people seem to like are KR808d, 401/2/3, 801, 901 and the 510.
I started with the 510 and really like it. Others dont.

Personally I wouldnt really take anyones recommendation. Do alot of research, find out all you can about the different models, what their strong points are and what their weaknesses are then pick the one you think might work for you.
The good thing is you can get Starter Kits for each of those models for around $40-$60.
You could buy 1 Starter Kit and a 30ml bottle of liquid per month for less than it would cost in cigarettes.
That way you could try a new model each month till you find the one that works for you.

I use a 510 personally and love it. Better than my first ecig a Njoy Npro(Rn4081). The battery life is short but it depends on how much you are actually going to vape. My wife uses only one battery per day. I smoked 1.5 packs of analogs a day and I go thru 2-3 510 bats a day. If this is your first ecig purchase then I would recommend you purchase 2 510 starter kits from Cignot.com and some ejuice and try it from there. If the battery life is a hassle for you then you could consider a battery mod or a mega 510 bat. 2 starter kits would give you 4 bats, 4 attys, 2 chargers, and 10 disgusting filled carts. A very good investment in my opinion.

Thank you everyone. I forgot to mention.... I spend a lot of time at the computer so I know I will be getting a usb passthru for what ever model I go with. I play a lot of online poker. I am disabled so I really cant do much but watch tv or play on the computer. I have copd and the doc says I got to quit smoking real cigs. I dont think he would be too happy with vaping either but I got to try something. patches and gum just doesnt do the trick for me. I am a nicotine addict that is all there is to it, I just hope e cigs do the trick.

I'm there with you bro! I've been smoking over 21. And I have asthma. Nothing has helped me quit for more than a short time (and I've tried everything) I just ordered my 1st e-cig. I chose to go with the Joye 510. I'm HOPING it will arrive at my house tomorrow afternoon. Check out my thread "Diary of a Noob" tomorrow. If I get my Joye I'll document my 1st vaping experience.

I have a Joye 510 (my first and a great ecig; batteries are the drawback) On impulse I got a 901 from the classifieds (just as good and better battery life) Also use a nicostick.
If I had it to do over, I would have a 510 usb passsthru and then I would purchase a nicostick http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-forum/40440-510-901-box-mods-start-23-a.html or make your own (see the sticky). Batteries and charger are available at Flashlights, Batteries, etc : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! I get my attys from Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! .
The nicostick doesn't look like an analog but most people don't really mind after the first few weeks of vaping (convenience over appearance). Thats my 2 cents and good luck getting off analogs. After 2 months I feel great.

i can tell you that would never happen with vapor 4 life, the owner called me the other day to answer a simple question any worker could. sends replacements no questions asked, you should try them.

I love the Vapor King from Vapor4Life. Great flavor on the carts, great throat hit, and lots of variety with both cartomizers and juices. As an added bonus, they have excellent customer service!

Fogster and jghunter, I wish you both luck in leaving the analogs behind. You will find a lot of great support here at ECF.

Like Pyrate said, everyone is going to have their own favorite based on personal needs. I would definitely recommend the 510 for a starter, but that doesn't mean others aren't good as well. If you look at the poll that Kent posted above, you will see that the 510 is WAY out ahead of the others. In second (with less than half of the 510 votes) is mods. To me this is a little misleading, as 90% of the 'mods' are just battery mods. So when somebody has voted 'mod' they are still screwing in an atty from one of the other selection. So chances are 30% of those votes are for 510 as well.

But regardless of what model you start with you will most likely buy something else at some point anyway. I would like to see a poll of how many models users own. I would guess most of us have at least 2-3 different models. (I have 7 not counting mods).

And although the 510 is my model of choice I didn't start there, I bought 2 other models before I got my 510s. And even though I think it's the best, I didn't end there either, bought 4 models after it. I just have to try everything that comes out.

I just like to recommend the 510, because I think it is the most likely to impress right out of the box (after charging your batts of course). And it is the most likely to make you and instant 'vaper for life'. If you start out with something wimpy (cough.cough.401.cough) you may think the whole thing is a waste and not even try others.

What I did, was take my cig budget $10/day ($300/month) and buy ecig stuff. The number may be different for you, but chances are, if you spend your cig money on e-cig stuff you will be up to your ears in vaping supplies in no time.

Good luck starting out, and whichever model you get, you can get all the help and info you need to make the most of it here on ECF.
