I only have one piece of advice. Don't spend a grundle of cash on a fancy rig until you know for sure that vaping is for you. There are plenty of $20-30 dollar PV's that you can try to see if you like vaping.

excellent point ad spot on! with that behind said, I agree with the many have suggested the ego twist vv and and clearos that's my current choice and am very pleased with this set up which is very affordable to get started.

Not to be ignorant - an Ego(or similar)650mah battery, a decent Ce5 Clearomizer @ 1.7-2.0ohms and an E-liquid flavor you like.

Once you are comfortable Vaping and have gone through Tons of Reviews you will be able to expand on what you expect from vaping.

No, that isn't what I now use but it is what I have found as a good middle ground for starting Vapors. I now pass these on as a starter setup to those I meet that wish to try the change. So far none have gone back.

Or you could just buy everything everyone swears is the best and end up with a table full of seldom used gear. I believe I hit $2k before realizing this.:glare:

The best E-cig is the one that gets you off analogs and keeps you off them. The key lies in finding the right set-up that "works for you" and you need to remember that what works for me may not work for you.

Finding the right flavor of juice, in the right strength, in the right type of atomizer, with the right battery, at the right price, at the right level of required maintenance,......etc etc etc all come into play.

Stop stressing over the first purchase, listen to your gut and jump in, revel in every analog you avoid, and don't beat yourself up over any analogs that you take. If you find that you're continuing to smoke, then experiment a bit with liquid flavors, nic content, PG:VG ratios, atomizers, and all that jazz. You'll know when you get it right!

Actually, for me it was the pursuit of vapor that kept me off analogs. The more vapor, the better.

You said you were a heavy smoker, but "heavy" can mean different things to different people.
Starting out with the right strength liquid is important, but the right strength varies from person to person.

So, with that in mind, what did you smoke, and how much of it did you smoke?
If you truly were a "heavy" smoker, 18mg strength might very well be too low for you.

or it might be too high for you because you want to chain vape. thats how I was.
I smoked rolled up bag tobacco and newport 100s, I had one in my mouth as long as I was awake.
when I switched to vaping, 24mg shut me up like a fat man with a shrimp in his throat.
It made me sick from 2 puffs. So I switched to 18mg e-liquid...
18mg e-liquid made me feel better but it made me sick before I wanted to stop vaping...
Even though I was basically a chain smoker, I couldn't chain vape because 18mg was too high.
So I switched to 12mg and now I can chain vape (within reason) and not have a nic fit.
I CAN get sick from chain vaping 12mg but I don't. I believe 12mg best replicates smoking for my vape PACE.

I personally believe that the mg amount of your juice depends more on how much/long you want to vape.
And the more you want to vape, the more I believe you DON'T need a very high nicotine content juice.
Thats why I suggested she try the 18 AND the 12mg juice. Hope she does.

You wanna get an eGo kit probably.
Don't go with the eGo C, it can be a little confusing and more messy than the other variants in my opinion.
Just get any eGo kit with a couple "clearomizers" and your good to go once you pick out your juice.

Looking at your avatar and being a mechanic, I could make my vaping look like your avatar.:toast:

Juice with nicotine usually comes in 24 mg/mL, 18 mg/mL, 12 mg/mL, and 6 mg/mL. Of course DIY juice can very a lot...I've seen recipes for everything from 38 mg/mL to 0 mg/mL (and if one is using a DIY tobacco extract for flavoring there may be trace nicotine).

If you currently smoke 12 mg of nic per day and want to maintain that level I'd suggest getting a 12 mg/mL and a 6 mg/mL. The lower nic would likely be good if you want to vape more.

I was a pipe smoker and a pretty heavy one at that (0.5 oz per day) and I find that if I'm craving nicotine but don't want to vape, or vape a lot a 24mg/mL works for me for a couple hours. But if I want to vape, like say I'm in front of the TV or computer (where I used to smoke a lot) an 18 mg/mL works fine for me.

a joyetech eGo-C kit is a kit with eGo batteries that comes with atomizers & little tanks.
When you suggest an eGo-C kit like this: "ego-c with vivi novas" or "ego-c with clearomizers"
all your really saying is buy an eGo-C kit and then don't use what comes with it and buy clearomizers.
Telling people to get an eGoC kit with vivis or clearos is like telling sum1 to buy scuba gear but go hiking.

If your going to recommend an eGo + clearomizer like the CE4/CE5 or vivi nova...
Then just say "I'd recommend an eGo kit with clearomizers or the vivi nova tanks"
Just tell them to get an eGo kit with clearomizers or the vivi nova.

This is just for future reference for any one here that is new to the forum and new to suggesting for new vapers.
