For starter e_cig for under $100 for the starter kit - Go for the 510, or get a screwdriver, or even a DSE905. I'd always recommend getting something with a longer life battery. If you went for a 905 you just charge up the batt, stick it in and you're all set for the day
With a standard 510, your set up for a couple of hours, then you have to change batt. It all gets miserable having to carry a whole bunch of batts around. Then again, you can get mega battery for the 510, so just charge up a couple of those bad boys and away you go.
The bad thing about big batt ecigs is they are a total pain to carry around. With a 510 it can just sit in your top pocket and you can take a crafty drag off it when you like. With a big batt model they are a bit too big to sit in your top pocket.
Alternatively, you could just go for a 901 - still pretty good, spares are cheap, attys last a long time, flavour is good with them, vapour production is good enough. And if you decide to upgrade absolutely all the big batt mods come for 901 type attys, so you won't be throwing anything away, or having to buy extra convertors etc.
Hope this helps
