I have been e-smoking for about a month or so. I have 4-401 atomizers 6-401 batteries, 5 901 atomizers, 8 901 batteries. Just about every atomizer seems to have gone bad. The battery lights go on, but the atomizers don't seem to heat up and I have been getting chemical burns in my mouth from the fluid being sucked in.

I was just wondering, if money were no object, what would be the best overall e-smoking device. Based on...

Quality of experience, taste/vapor
Longevity, battery life/atomizer life
When it goes bad do you get fluid in your mouth?

To me it seems as though the E-pipe might be the best in all of these catagory's. But if I'm going to spend $350 on something I want it to work very well, for a long time.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Scott

I would have to say the screwdriver. Have you done a search on the forum yet for the screwdriver?

All atomizers eventually go bad. Most consider that a disposable item.

Can't comment on the E-pipe - haven't tried it.

I do remember seeing that one a while back. I will go check it out again.

I also consider the atomizer desposible but 9 in a month seems excessive. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I cant keep getting these chemical burns in my mouth. I love e-smoking when it works right, but I wont risk the problems caused by sucking in that liquid on a regular basis.

Thank you much,
Scott

If you have any DIY skills, a flashlight-based device like maddog's Magnum is very inexpensive to build and creates monster hits. I recently made one for a pen-style (801) atomizer and am really impressed.

Atomizers are throw-away parts, but you have been through too many in a short period of time. The reason you are getting juice in your mouth is too much CPR (sucking) trying to make a dead atomizer live again.

I have had my M-401 for three weeks. Atomizer works great. Only problem I have had is with the airway hole getting liquid in it.

When I have to drag harder than normal, I simply blow compressed air through the airway... toward the tip. Once the airway is cleared, good as new.

I also purchased a M-201 penstyle... what a piece of junk!

Wanna sell your M-401 stuff?

I started with the penstyle and I can honestly say, this is an excellent and durable device. I also got a passthrough for it and was very happy with that as well. And no matter what else I own, I will always say the pen is a great little device.

I then tried a Janty Kissbox sold by a member here. It is along the lines of the penstyle but I wanted that so I could drip without fear of killing the battery as their switch holes are covered. The KB has actually served me well.

Then I tried the Mini Pipe because I've always wanted one. For me, this has been an awesome device, and has now become my primary device. I have since (sadly) put away my penstyle and have been alternating between my pipes and my KB.

I recently tried the Vapor King which uses disposable atomizers. This is a really great vape too...and there are ways to refill the carts so they do last longer than I thought they would. Only problem is...those carts are not easy to come by...and can be expensive. I guess I should also add that the VK is still secondary to my pipes. If I ever do find a cheap and reliable source for replacement carts, I will most likely use this more than my KB though.

So these have been my favorites over time.

I sounds to me that your atomizers are not the problem. You need to develop healthy vaporizing practices. If you listen your E-Cig will actually talk to you. I know when my atomizer is getting dry before the light starts flashing because the flavor changes. I find my M401 cartridges to be a waste of time and quite possibly a source of your problems. I have my 3 original atomizers over a month old that I drip on. Clean and tasty flavor. No burnt wick taste ever. Get a little eyedrop bottle so you can drip on the run. Look into cleaning those precious little suckers and they will love you for it. Change your habits not your hardware.

I have never burned an atomizer out in under a week, usually mine last me 2-4 weeks (depending on how annoyed I get with performance reduction). My husband will burn his out within a week no questions asked, and if I take a drag on his it tastes like crap compared to mine, and I know he drags deeper and longer (therefore hotter and drier, hence is going through atomizers faster). If I get any burning flavor, harsh chemical sensations, hot atomizer....anything like that...I put it down a bit, let it cool, and refill it. I burnt my first atomizer out very quickly because I took their claims at face value, I thought since they say it will alst a pack of cigarettes, I shouldn't have to change my NPRO cartridge for four days right? WRONG! Within a single sitting I must have vaped it dry, and I continued to vape it, thinking I was supposed to (juding by claims, and the price)...and I burnt the atomizer out very quickly. I always keep my carts topped off now, I don't let the atomizer get thirsty, and since then, I can keep them going a lot longer. It's all about learning curve. Just like with smoking, I guarantee that for the first pack of analogs that I smoked, I probly looked like an idiot and wasn't inhaling "right"...same goes with my e-cigarettes, I justhave to learn how to "listen" to my device.

Oh, and my favorite device to date is my Janty Kissbox. I love the easy draw (actually, I don't drag hard at all, I just let the atomizer feed the vapor to me) and I love the way it brings out the flavors of my favorite liquids. Definetely all thumbs for me!
