I am hoping my 40w batteries are up to the task for these tanks because I already have a couple.
40 watt batteries? What batteries and mod are you specifically using?

18650 batteries are generally rated by continuous discharge rate (amp rating). There are no 40 amp 18650 batteries. There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!

Internal battery mods are a different matter; they are rated in watts. If this is the case, 40 watts is not enough for SMOK coils.

Is the Prince TFV12 tank by SMOK any good?
I guess some folks like it. From your previous threads on ECF, I have to ask why your focus on SMOK products? Is that the only brand your vape shop carries?

When considering what tank to use on a mod, one must consider the recommended wattage range the coils ask for. Most SMOK coils require high wattage settings. 40 watts won't be enough for these coils. To use these coils you'll need a dual battery mod or use 25 - 30 amp batteries.

SMOK V12 PRINCE COILS
These coils are designed to be used in the SMOK TFV12 Prince Tank. There are seven options for you to choose from, all of which offer totally different vaping experiences.

  • TFV12 Prince Q4 (0.4Ω Quadruple Coil) - Brings you deep and rich vapor! 40-100W/ Best between 60-80W
  • TFV12 Prince X6 (0.15Ω Sextuple Coil) - Brings you silky taste and massive vapor! 50-120W/ Best between 80-100W
  • TFV12 Prince Max Mesh (0.17Ω Mesh Coil) - Brings you mighty power and gigantic clouds! 80-130W/ Best between 90-110W
  • TFV12 Prince T10 (0.12Ω Decuple Coil) - Brings you massive vapor and rich flavors! 60-120W/ Best between 80-110W
  • TFV12 Prince Mesh (0.15Ω Mesh Coil) - Strong power & Huge vapor production! 40-80W/ Best between 60-70W
  • TFV12 Prince Dual Mesh (0.2Ω Mesh Coil) - Larger heating area & Faster heating speed! 50-80W/ Best between 65-75W
  • TFV12 Prince Triple Mesh (0.15Ω Mesh Coil) - Super strong power & super large cloud! 80-130w/ Best between 100-120W

Like has already been mentioned and from attempting to assist previously the OP calls a power device a battery.

And no, a 40w power device will not perform well with the tank & replacement heads you asked about.

Smok tanks guzzle liquid by the cup full, expect your liquid consumption to at least double.

It’s reputation is less bad than most SMOK products. To the point of being decent even. SMOK coils have a rep for taking a lot of power and not lasting terribly long, but they’re reputed to vape fine. It’s the SMOK mods that have most of the big problems.

As to the batteries it sounds like there are some issues here. We need to know the make and model of the mod, as well as exactly what batteries you are talking about. “40w” doesn’t sound right at all

UPDATE
So it seems you are referring to a 40w sealed battery mod. I honestly don’t think you’re going to be able to power ANY decent DL atty with those things. Those are MTL sealed battery mods (notice the terminology). You might be able to get away with a single coil DL RTA if you used the right coil. You’re going to want to stay well under 30w, and that’s the only way I can think to do it. If you’re calling mods “batteries” though you may not be ready for that sort of atty though.

Well As others have put it most of the newer tanks cater towards a little more power to get a decent draw, If you can find the original Uwell Crown or Crown mini ( they use the same coil) and use the .5 ohm coils you can get close to a what I would think your looking for with 25-30 watt range. But without info about the mod or battery used it is hard to tell what you really need.
