The problem with both TrustFire and UltraFire is that they're cheap. Too cheap as in they skip any form of quality control to get them that cheap. One batch might be dead on spec and another off and yet a different batch have bad protection circuits and the next …

But they are cheap and when they work they work fine. So get extras and test before use.

I've had one for a few months and it works all day pretty much.Only have one 2xAA box mod I use it in.Could someone tell me the shelf life of these if you stock up on them?:D

Not that great really but I`ve heard 2 years average. then that also depends on the charge when getting stored and how old are they already from wherever.

See the first thread and it covers storage somewhat then be sure to read post 19 the following link will take you to it but it`s the same thread. :)

I didn't read those threads, but I am VERY experienced with lithium polymer batteries (similar to Li-ion) You never want to store them fully charged or fully discharged. About 40% charge is good and they don't lose much voltage on the shelf, but I'd still check them every 6 months if you are storing them.

I race R/C cars pretty seriously and proper care of Lipo batteries can mean the difference between long life and burning your house down (literally, it has happened)

ricky59 brings up some great hands on info there,
Which reminds me of a poster that had found one of their old flashlights in the work shed that they thought of modding since it already used 18650`s I think it was, and when they found it it had gone wild sometime during the storage. Melted the thing pretty good but that was a bought it due to the surrounding material wasn`t flammable.

So I wouldn`t get to many of these and be sure to dispose of the old ones by recycling rather then say well maybe someday it`ll work again. Tossing these into the junk drawer could be bad.
