For other members reading this that may not know - Vaporizers with Digital temperature controls are becoming popular for herbs and tobacco vaporizing and a few people do find that you can use e-liquid with them. They tend to be expensive (around $150 and up). So are the parts. Some require you to be plugged into a wall socket to run them, have lithium ion rechargeable batteries or run off of butane. The newest models have digital readings and indicators for readiness of use. They usually have a good warranty of one or two years.

Some are quite noisy and you can't exactly use them in public without getting a stink eye or other knowing glances since they are usually associated with an illegal substance.

And to answer the OP's questions: The difference with a general e-cig model is that it closely replicates what we're already using (a cigarette) by the size. While you can use a battery modification unit, most are comfortable starting out with a size and shape similar to a cigarette. The liquid we use is nicotine, propylene glycol and flavorings while herbal vaporizers use tobacco to heat without burning to bring the nicotine to the user (similar to vaping, but you will be getting the chemicals added to the tobacco and will have less of an idea of what nicotine level you are receiving).

As far as e-liquid goes... I've seen some directions and talk in forums about using these with e-liquid. You would soak a poly-fill material (must be flame ......ant) with your e-liquid and then place that where normally the ground herb material would normally go on top of the screen.

Oddly, we don't seem to have a section of the forum dedicated to discussing these though I've seen them come up for sale once in a while on the classified section. This is one thread I found that has links to several of the companies and some information http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...uests/12598-using-those-other-vaporizers.html

There are plenty of discussion boards on the web for herbal vaporizers where you can ask questions from people who may be using nicotine liquids for some tips. Most people on those boards think e-cigs are terrible. LOL. You can search for those forums on Google.

Happy Vaporizing or Vaping (which ever you choose) :vapor:
