In my search of the perfect mod for me, I've narrowed the search down to...well, about 100. That's a problem because I don't have that much money. Which led me to think, what if I could take my favorite features to build the perfect mod...for me. It would:

1) have the brains of the darwin, with provarian traits - it would allow you to control the PV through watts or volts. With a nice display showing maybe ohms, amps, volts, watts, and maybe coil temperature.
2) it would be a tube mod, well machined and sharp looking - a la the gg;
3) it would have be a telescope, again a la ggts, to accomodate my whim as to size, and use several different battery sizes.

I guess a ssggts with the kick comes the closest to my perfect mod - that is if the gg is ever in stock.

so, what features are most important to you? e.g., what is your dream mod? inquiring minds want to know.....

All metal top feeder with a method to control the feed and a method to regulate the voltage. -- Got it a week ago. The VVPV from notcigs.

and/or:

All metal bottom feeder with a method to regulate voltage -- The wood version is probably very close to release and the metal version might still be a few weeks or so away - The VV REO. I have little doubt that I'll own one of those soon after they are released.

I have and I enjoy a lot of different tube mods (and I still have three or four plastic box mods around). But, the last 6 months or so have been good to me with feeders. A good feeder will absolutely spoil most vapers. -- Even though I have a real affinity for my tube mods (specifically my rough stacks from madvapes and my triple-v from kalamazoo), I'm finding myself using my feeders more and more often. Other than one more tube mod I'd like to own (the megalodon from electronicstix), I don't see myself buying anything else that isn't a feeder from now on.

I like box mods and am really really happy with my vv altoid box mod from smartvapes....it works so well and I can adjust voltage from 3.4 to 6 volts, and there is a display inside with a really easy wheel to adjust voltage. I wouldn't mind getting another actually. But ever since the Saber Touch contest I think it would be really cool to have a saber touch. Too expensive for me though.

For me it would be a GGTS with a Odysseus rebuild-able atomizer / tank and a native form of VV (like the kick but adjustable from a ring like the existing air flow control ring)

You would then have a mod that
1) Looks stunning and virtually indestructible
2) would be able to take any battery
3) Would have adjustable juice flow control
4) Would have adjustable air flow control
5) would have adjustable voltage/wattage control

That would be heaven !

My dream mod would be a Variable Watt mod with thumb wheel adjustment, with meter displaying watts, volts, ohms and battery. It would be a metal or wood bottom feeder using a boost circuit with one 18650 battery. It would have short circuit protection, over temperature protection, low battery shut off and and reverse battery protection.
And it would be relatively light, comfortable to hold and pocket friendly. It would have a large diameter drip well for dripping and yet be able to use a DCT on it.
I know it's only a dream!

I'd say you nailed it right on the head pretty much. I'd like a mod no larger than the size of my Prodigy, but with PWM and constant current/voltage output to get a set amount of power (watts) according to the sensed load. Other than that, my prodigy works perfectly with these new AW batteries. 12W vaping kicks .... If only I could do PWM and the current/voltage regulation/tuning. Hmm maybe I will experiment with making a pcb that fits inside my prodigy and uses a charge pump to up the voltage with a shorter 3.7V batt. Hmmm.... I doubt thatll be feasible but I could definately design a box mod with these functions probably.

I think this mod is the closest to the Darwin/Provari/GG, it gives volts 3v to 6v or 10 to 15 watts. I don't know how accurate it is with load, but it's nevertheless interesting. It's in Russian though. I'd take it with a grain of salt. For me it looks like a re-modded Provari lookalike of the chipset of version 1. And a mechanics of GG similarities. Darwin for the generic Watts mode. http://shop.svoemesto.ru/index.php?ukey=auxpage_videoobzor-varivoltavarivatta-syomovar

I
'm waiting for Vendors to get thier hands on the Evolv's Modders boards and incorporate it into their commercial mods.

or

wait for more Kicks to be available

wait for GG to bring out its own Variable.

The design looks like its has copied almost everything from many manufacturers.

GGTS/UFS/Darwin/Provari even Lavatube

Its seems to be a mix of everything.
Speaking for myself . This is a shame !

Where has innovation gone.

I agree! Only addition -- comfortable button and easy ability to turn off----and not huge!!!
